Least Likely Theories

@Snorkelbottom oh alright thanks, that makes a lot of sense actually. You seem to know more about Promotheus than me, do you have any theories I didn't mention that you disagree with?

Peter Weyland was born in Mumbai India in 1990. When he appeared in the 2023 TED video he would have been 33 years old. Allegedly Peter Weyland talks to the prometheus crew in a recording before holloway and shaw give their presentation. Allegedly Weyland is said to have died before the mission launched. On the weylandindustries site there is mention of a device that can activate a dead persons brain. Then, as I said before there is an old man aboard the prometheus. Mine, and others, conclusion - Weyland is aboard the ship and David and/or Vickers are at his beck and call, presumably to acquire engineer tech to extend his life.

I second SaintSynphony about the common theory that Vickers is an android: I'm still not convinced.

I think Weyland is on board. The reason for him being there is he is dying. Being the head of the largest corporation and basically as full as himself in the video death would seem something that is unaceptable to him and must be conquered. Perhaps he is trying to figure out how to reverse aging or find a new vessel

One of the crew, possibly but I think a lot of people presume that it is in fact Sir Peter Weyland. Remember, that Guy Pearce said that he spends most of his time on screen in prosthetics, presumably to make him look older. Therefore, I have to disagree. 3. Never heard of that one, and anyways a lot of people presume the mess of tentacles is shaws baby all grown up. So on that basis I agree. 4. Well weylandindustries.com references atmosphere processors and powerloaders (Aliens) and correctional work colonies (Alien 3), and this may be extended into the actual film but direct references to Rez or the AVP's. i doubt it. So I half agree. 5. Depends on your definition of appearance. The mural image is undeniably a Xenomorph, but beyond that I do agree that the creature itself will not feature in the film.

From all the featurettes and trailers we have seen no hint of Weyland (Guy Pierce) as actually being onboard the ship with the crew. It also would not make sense for the head of the largest corporation in the universe to leave his base of operations to go with a bunch of scientists on, what Vickers (his representative) believes, is a wild goose chase.

I agree on all the above. I'd have more to add but I don't know if I'm up for the argument that would ensue. I'll wait and see. how about : Vickers is an android theory. I don't think she is a robot/android at all. She has unknown motives (thus far) but I believe she is human.

(Actually I do think Weyland is on board, just not that he gets in 'the chair')

My confusion is that in the TED talk he appears fairly young, doesn't Prometheus take place in 2038 while the Ted talk is 2023? I might be wrong about this so forgive me if I am. Still, I do not think he tries to steal the Alien ship or is the Engineer in the chair.

I think Weyland is on board and David is working for him. He wants to achieve immortaity. Thus the ampules with the Black goo or gray matter. He funded the mission for that sole purpose. This was my theory from the beginning. Happy Memorial Day!

This may be a least likely guess and im sure others have mentioned it. But why does the timeline not show Weyland married? Surely a man of his stature would want an heir(s) to continue his work. Idk i kinda feel Vickers is his daughter but unhappy with that perhaps his wife died of child birth on her second pregnancy and the baby boy died too. Who knows he truely wanted a son so created David to replace his dead one. I know i read thats the name he would of given his real son if he had one.

If you watched the confrontation scene between Vickers and David in the hallway, she wants to know "What did he say?!" Who could the company EXEC be so hellbent to find out confidential information about? Her boss maybe? If Weyland wasn't aboard there would be no way for him to say anything, even. "TRY HARDER...." due to the relativistic nature of extreme long range communications. As she is in charge of the mission the only person that would outrank her would be Weyland.

Yay! "Least likely theory"! Uhmm....: How it plays out is that David tries to mate with the tentacle thing in order to have a baby because he is jealous of humans. That ends quite badly and Vickers mocks him in front of everyone so then Weyland jumps out from the closet and gets a little angry really and tells his armed nurses to lock Vickers in a cryo pod. Then he turns the egg-timer thing on it to maximum - which is probably, like, 200 years - and buries her in the caves and laughs and his laughs echo in there for ages. Shaw finds out that Weyland set up her boyfriend to get mutated because he felt he was a damned fool all along and also he tried to show Weyland his tattoos and surfing photos one time - so she's pretty angry about how everything is turning out and runs into the ship only to find Weyland in the Command chair. Shaw tries to kill him with the axe but hits the console instead and awakens a couple of those tomb things and out jump a xenomorph and another SJ and they chase each other all around that flight deck until there is a titanic eruption on the planet. Everything is buried except for Vickers' cryopod which breaks through to the surface with one light blinking and that's the end. Everyone else is dead.

Ghost Solitaire is right on the money.

One of the Prometheus crew will be an ancestor of Brett and just walk around the ship saying: "Right!"

The engineers think David is Groovy and want to teach him everything. 8. The holograms are real live Engineers. 7.There is only one Artificial Person. 6. There is only one race of intellegent life. 5.Dickie Dies in first 28 minutes. 4.Ripley is Weylands blue collar daughter. 3.Time travel. 2. Holloway does not transform into engineer. and number one 1. Predators are involved in the shenanagins.

@ Drakeequation 2. Weyland is somehow going to turn into the Space Jockey or steal the alien ship (all evidence points to the fact that he is not even on the Prometheus in the first place but is just funding the expedition). Not sure about this point. In one of the french interviews I read that Shaw discovers some hidden quarters inside the Prometheus, I just wonder what or whom was in that room.
