Who gives a fuck ? even if there were not french you only go with the Reviewers you trust, being a movie critic is pretty bullshit because they always give their own personal opinion on a movie, and everyone has different opinions. To critic a movie would require some one to not be biased but how many times do you see shit like "I usually hate sci-fi movies" in some ones review, expressing personal feelings. I love Rotten Tomatoes because it is a consensus of reviews which can be far more trusted that 4 reviews from random people. Find a critic that seems to have a similar taste in movies than you and stick with that then you will have an idea if you will like a movie or not. Trusting random people's reviews that will not jive with yours once you have seen it is retarded. Please stop fucking crying like bitches and wait till youve seen the movie

The fact that you would slander an entire country of people because they gave Prometheus negative review shows how childish you really are. This really goes beyond something as trivial as a movie and really tells me a lot about you as a person. That type of simplified grouping of individuals as unworthy and hateful is what gave us the holocaust.

@ Spartacus you are talking about the LEGAL definition of slander not its usage in everyday language. In a court of law, slander is about spoken defamation and libel is written defamation. In every day usage, slander refers to false malicious statements about a person or group of people. Maybe you're the one in need of an English lesson.

I am not talking about the film anymore, I am talking about your malicious attacks on the people of France. I am not going to debate the film with someone who resorts to prejudiced statements about an entire country of people just because they hurt his fanboy pride and gave Prometheus a negative review. And before you say I don't know what prejudice means, it can also refer to people grouped by nation and not just race.

Name a good French sci-fi/horror film? Le Dernier Combat? La Jetée? Nah they're all crap. Look what a French man (Jean-Pierre Jeunet) did to the Alien franchise! Fucked it & gave it a blag number. The French are notorious for slating sci-fi in general. This is coming from someone who works in the film critiquing industry. They are extremely biased against films depicting the supernatural or space travel, or just anything which is out the known realms of scientific reality.

Movies are rather like the concept of what is a good pizza. Thin crust, thick crust, lots or little cheese, what kind of toppings. Never will be there be a general agreement and there are always regional variations on what is perceived as good. And while I've been avidly reading the forums, watching the trailers, reading the spoilers, I am still stoked to see the movie, watching how RS presented this story, the visuals, the acting, the soundtrack, everything!

Yes, I'm glad to see we all have faith in Ridley executing a great sci-fi after so long and returning to what he does best. Drakeeqaution has no idea what he's banging on about. He hasn't seen it, but he's already made up his mind - he's convinced himself it's going to be a let down. And even if he does think it's a great movie after seeing it, he still won't admit it to anyone, and he'll still find things to pick at. I'm going in there with an open mind and to enjoy what we've been waiting for for over thirty years now. I'm not about to let some moaning, negative muppet spoil something I've been wanting to see made since I was a child. Lets be happy this film was even made and stop complaining before we've even seen it. End of.

I agree, you started $hit in this post and now look Drakeequation. Xeno Jockey wanted to talk about the good things in Prometheus but you had to say the exact same thing you said in 2 other forums. You couldn't let it alone that someone may like this film and was looking forward to seeing it. I don't understand why it was so important to just bash the story over and over again. I said it earlier, we hear you, you don't think the story is original. I even tried to show you some cool stuff to maybe talk about but you ignored it and went ahead saying the same stuff over and over. Yes, other things were said and that is their own to deal with if they choose to. I'm leaving this has given me a headache. I'm gonna go find something else to do on my vacation day.
