home in about an hour. And I'm running low on battery...
Well, I just saw the damn movie! Premiere at midnight in Paris' greatest theater, the grand Rex. It was full of people. Imax 3D.
Simply put, I loved it. But it took me a few minutes to realize it because I knew too much of it, and that kind of spoiled it for me. And I knew less than most here. I promise for the sequel I'm not going to watch anything!
I could say what others have said, it's beautiful visually. Some images from the trailers were not in the movie but I forgot which (part of a dialogue maybe).
After the movie finished I kept thinking myself about the life cycle of the different creatures in the movie. I didn't talk with others (I was alone since my bf stayed home because he's sick, that sucks), but there was A LOT of chatter even in the streets outside pretty far from the theater.
Continuing...now didn't want to lose everything.
It wasn't clear if people were generally happy or not. A good number seemed unsure, and some were asking what was the point of the movie.
One of the critics I'll say is something I've read somewhere. Scott tried to make a movie that can be linked to Alien. That's a good idea, but in doing so, he left out all the people that haven't seen it or don't remember it. Some ideas that can be related to Alien can't be understood without seeing it. And some new ideas brought by the movie can make all this very confused for some people I think. It's like a prequel, but you have to see Alien first. I have seen it so no problem for me, but the harsh critic will mainly come from this I think, misunderstanding. And even if I understood all, I think that it's a valid critic nonetheless. A movie has to be understandable to all.
