Hi everyone, I'm writing this from my cellphone on the night bus which should take me home in about an hour. And I'm running low on battery... Well, I just saw the damn movie! Premiere at midnight in Paris' greatest theater, the grand Rex. It was full of people. Imax 3D. Simply put, I loved it. But it took me a few minutes to realize it because I knew too much of it, and that kind of spoiled it for me. And I knew less than most here. I promise for the sequel I'm not going to watch anything! I could say what others have said, it's beautiful visually. Some images from the trailers were not in the movie but I forgot which (part of a dialogue maybe). After the movie finished I kept thinking myself about the life cycle of the different creatures in the movie. I didn't talk with others (I was alone since my bf stayed home because he's sick, that sucks), but there was A LOT of chatter even in the streets outside pretty far from the theater. Continuing...now didn't want to lose everything. It wasn't clear if people were generally happy or not. A good number seemed unsure, and some were asking what was the point of the movie. One of the critics I'll say is something I've read somewhere. Scott tried to make a movie that can be linked to Alien. That's a good idea, but in doing so, he left out all the people that haven't seen it or don't remember it. Some ideas that can be related to Alien can't be understood without seeing it. And some new ideas brought by the movie can make all this very confused for some people I think. It's like a prequel, but you have to see Alien first. I have seen it so no problem for me, but the harsh critic will mainly come from this I think, misunderstanding. And even if I understood all, I think that it's a valid critic nonetheless. A movie has to be understandable to all. Continuing in these pages...

@bigbirdjimmy Word on the street is that there is no "after the credits" scene. Blood can confirm.

Blood, I am just curious but did you stay until the end of the credits? I know some movies now a days like to put 30 second scenes at the end and I am just wondering if there is one. I DO NOT want to know what it is, but just if there is something at the end. Thanks Blood!

Since this is in the Spoiler section, could we find out about the plot - like what is Cuddles and the last few minute scenes that give a clue as to the derelict ship at the beginning of Alien?

I DID read from someone who saw the movie that they thought the opening scene was breathtaking and that the engineers were really magnetizing.

Probably, I loved when the name PROMETHEUS appeared on screen. The beginning is really powerful. Did anyone else say anywhere that the engineers look beautiful? People will think I'm crazy when they see the movie but I really think they are. Huge, pure white skin, distinct face traits, beautiful eyes. They look like statues!

@dsjohnson84 I read that too I'm not sure. A few characters could have been developed just a little. I think that the movie should have been longer and Scott should have taken time to make scenes slower, scarier. But I like slow movies so most people wouldn't like it that way either. So it's good. There's one part though when things went really too fast and could have been better written. But again, making it slower would have broken its rhythm. (Shaw is in kind of a shock here)

@Blood I'm glad to hear the movie sits well with you! One thing I was wondering is, do you feel that the length of the film was appropriate or did it need more length to give the film some more space. Some of the reviews I have read have said that it felt a little rushed at points.

^ so a Spoiler Section that can't contain confirmed plot spoiler reviews? I mean I understand the kinda gesture, but that just seems silly. You have a spoiler section for anything that may spoil the movie, and a non-spoiler section. Seems pretty black and white, why add the grey?

One thing I don't understand is why they didn't keep the same sound for the holographic presentation in the hangar. I loved the way it sounded. I also remembered the parts that weren't in the movie watching again the trailers : -Holloway expanding the star map (multitouch like) -Him saying "you're smiling' (sad because I liked that, and it's certain it won't be in the director's cut looking at how the scene is made) -I'm not sure we see David smiling at the wiggling thing over the urn -Shaw crying while saying 'they are changing' There are also several lines that are shown where a different take was used for the final cut, for example Vickers saying "they were right".

@Blood WOW! All this sounds good, thanks for posting...`But a small question ... Are there similarities between Squid with Aliens / facehuggers? or is it a totally new creature ...

Well, my english writing is far from being perfect. I can't stop thinking about the lifecycle of these creatures. Everything that is shown in the ads is connected but you'll immediately understand as you see how these aliens appeared. Even if I understood the events, there a still so many questions, so many things I probably didn't notice. Some things are shown and never talked about later, but they must have a meaning. Like the alien statue.

Hey. I think there will be a second film with more answers. I'd even go as far to saying this movie was done in 2 parts, with the second film not that far away. Anyway I know the full story now and tbh I'm pritty much happy with it. There can only be one dissapointment for me now, and that is the soundtrack. As its no much of a spoiler I'll ask blood here, dose the soundtrack fit the movie bild the tension like ALIEN? Allso is the 3d really as good as people are saying?

I was the same with all 3 new Star Wars movies. I had read all the books the week prior (to each release) and was basically just there for the director's "interpretation" and "special effects". I was OK with that, though. I feel for this movie I have also read the novelization (that doesn't exist) before going in.
