-----------------------------------------------------------------I found this interesting as the two guys in the video are CLEARLY Fanboys and it's an interesting juxtaposition to the Never-saw-Alien review I posted earlier....

MemberOvomorphMay-30-2012 8:30 PMThose look just like the birth control glasses I was issued in Army basic. They call them birth control glasses because you'll never in a million years get laid while wearing them.

MemberOvomorphMay-30-2012 8:58 PMI can imagine David 8 wearing those though. I would also like to ask anybody who watched the movie about David's fashion. I am specially intrigued about the sandals or flip flops he was sporting in the trailer.

MemberOvomorphMay-30-2012 10:26 PMUgh. "Is it good" isn't a yes or no answer, it's subjective and based on the individual viewer, not peer pressure.
And spoiler free? Get outta here.
Obligatory comment about their very, very ordinary glasses which are hard to have an opinion on.

MemberOvomorphMay-31-2012 3:18 AMHonestly I can't see what's wrong with those glasses, it's more about how they fit one's features.
TV screen sized glasses, now those should be banned by international law!
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 2:03 PMThe way these guys tried to describe their feelings is exactly the reaction people first had when 2001 was released (yes. I'm that old).
We knew we saw something beautiful, original and very difficult to "get."
Everyone had a different take, some had none at all. Two guys directly in front of me looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders (after the Starchild scene). It wasn't until I read the novel that everything fell into place as Sir Arthur C. Clarke wrote such a great one.
TRUE art should leave room for speculation. Is that what RS did here? Perhaps.
