really dissapointed with the film. so many holes and unanswered questions and more importantly unanswered plot lines. why where the SJ's running? who killed them? why did they create us?. was there a reason or no reason?....just such poor story telling....and worst of all the engineers with all this genius and creation at their finger tips are just a bunch of thugs (they/he) killing and beating on people...thats it...doesnt make sense. real good first hour sets up the tension and theres some good moments but it all dies on its arse and does not deliver..Guy Pierce is not needed in this film at all...its just distracting he himself does a great job but his character adds nothing to the story...he's there, he talks, he's dead....Hmph! every now and again its time to get rid of some of the cast so there are random and not very impressive fighting and killing scenes which just serves to get rid of cast....the tip of the hat to the Alien movie atthe ending is a joke and soooo cheesy....it has good points...but thats all and im to gutted to go over them just now as i need to exorcise my dissapointment for this film.

I was expecting a "dark 2001" not an alien. what I got was some frustrating question-asking like a lost episode, and a plodding join-the-dots of set pieces that had been utterly spoiled by the trailers. (i think without the trailers i might have enjoyed it more)

@Nickell I'm just a mexican fan waiting for the premiere June 15. But I totally get your point. As a "geek-fan", around 4 months ago, I posted in this forum, that - my thoughts on the SJs race, was that, for me they are like "opportunists" and just another civilization "invited". No one reply. However, thanks for your thoughts and feelings!

Damn...So, so you're saying. The Engineers. The thing i'm most looking forward to are just the space-faring, highly intelligent equivalent of this:

They can't answer everything in one film - that's the point. Remember this is a film which is supposed to "Stand Alone" and start it's one tangent in the Alien Universe. All these questions leave us with so much potential for an equally thrilling sequel. I think Prometheus was executed perfectly for what it was intended for. You can't expect it to be a "be all end all" film with no holes to patch in - that's what makes it exciting. To discuss and debate on what "COULD" be or have been. And hopefully we get some more of those answers in the sequel. But remember - Alien left so many questions too and it was an instant classic.

@BugHunter... i get where your coming from my friend i do....but i feel your missing something not only was i not comparing it to Alien...but the same sequence of events would have to happen on the planet that the Nostromo lands on in Alien....because in this movie theyre on a different planet...are the Engineers that terrible at driving their craft that they crash twice and in the same vicinity but on different worlds....wheres the 'L' plates....and secondly why have so many plot lines in there? i get it could lead to another 'Prequel' but im more talking about the Actual film i just watched...its like they built them up in sizeable parts of the film only to forget about them its as if the pages of the script got stuck together and after being built up nothing happens and all of a sudden their getting on with something else....and theres far too many of those type of things in the film to make the narrative run well...they all got in the way. i dont mind that the ultimate questions of the universe and creation werent answered...im on about the amount of time spent on built up plot lines that go no where and can't because Alien took part on a different planet...my only reasoning now is that this could be a prequel to the prequel of Alien ...and we'll go from there.....@PRENIHILITY and @ABORDOLI.....hahhahh yeah made me laugh...shit thing is your not a million miles away...
