Prometheus weekend gross... Your best guess

$60-70 million. Hell, even SNOW WHITE movie is opening to $50 million plus, maybe even $60 mill. Surely PROMETHEUS, with all that hard scifi styling (tons of gamers out there), it at least brings out the scifi fans, ALIEN fans (which is a considerable force), and gamers which fuels AVATAR gross by going in again and again. INCEPTION is a hard movie to sell, and it did close to $300 mill. However that MedPod bay scene may turn off the girls and word would spread on Twitterland like wildfire: "That scene is disgusting, uck!!!" At any rate, I want PROMETHEUS to be successful. I want studios to take chances with challenging, big budget scifi action projects.

An easy $100 million+

It will be interesting if the reactions of half of the fanbase turn away the normies from this one...

....if anything the more grossed out a scene the more likely it will attract people...especially if it gets out on twitter amongst the girls....that type of thing gets them very curious!

First weekend box office may be good but if the movie doesn't get good word of mouth from the moviegoers then weeks two and three are going to be considerably less. With mediocre and mixed reviews i don't see it withstanding "Brave" and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" which both open two short weeks after "Prometheus".

Apparently AL:VH is a POS. Haven't seen it myself, but I heard it...
