@ David 1 - I won't be able to see the movie for quite a while (possibly months), and already know what happens in the movie anyways. I am trying to help those that have seen it and the community with possible theories to explain what they saw.

3. I think he's reanimated or just becomes super hostile and mega strong. What happens is that he gets acid splatter on his helmet from the severed cobra. His helmet melts and he accidentally stumbles down with his face into the dangerous materia. Mutation. 4. A single drop from David's finger infects Holloway. He puts his fingertip in the glass before he serves him a drink. 5. The engineer seems to die after the creature bursts out.

Snorkelbottom, if this will help you, I can refer you to the interview with the Sacrifice Engineer himself, Mr. Twiss, who said in the interview that the decomposition of the engineer, into life as we know it, is a painful transformation. That should answer your first question. Other viewers have corroborated that he seems to undergo pain and agony in his transformation. Best.

HIS EYES SEEM TO POP A BIT - What becomes of the Cobralien once it leaves Milburn? FALLS HEAD FIRST INTO THE BLACK RIVER OF GOO. LATER ON IN THE FILM HE IS WAITING OUTSIDE THE PROMETHEUS AND HE KILLS A FEW OF THE CREW BEFORE BURNING HIM WITH FLAME THROWERS 4. Allegedly David infects Holloway with this "Black Liquid", which was stored in vials/ampules within the urns. Holloway whom later appears much like the "Sacrificial Engineer" experiences pain, before pleading for Vickers to kill him... - How much black liquid is he infected with, and how? DAVID TAKES A TINY DOT FROM THE URN (SEE TRAILER FOR LITTLE THINGS START ETC...) AND PUTS IT IN A DRINK WHICH GETS INTO HIS SYSTEM AND HIS EYE. HIS FACE GOES ALL VEINY AND THEN HE IS BURNED. DONT SEE MUCH OF HIM CHANGING, DISAPPOINTING 5. Shaw gives birth to "Cuddles" despite being sterile, whom then impregnates the Engineer, resulting in an alleged Xeno... - After impregnating the Engineer does it die or not? 1. The engineer seemed to be in great pain before disintegrating. 2. The cobra enters Milburns throat and he decays from within. The cobra just jumps out later, nothing more.

A1: The liquid is similar, but the second is configured as a biological weapon. But it is possible that both are the same liquid...because according to the words of David: "Sometimes to create It is necessary to destroy firts"...and then the the engineer has a lot of pain, his legs are broken and falls into the water where his body continues to dissolve. A2: Yeah, the cobra is the result of mutation of a species of worm native to the LV-223. Well I guess that the creature was a feast with the brain of Milburns. The acid blood is just a defense mechanism that is revealed when Fifield cut the hammer head, and then he is the victim of acid burns. And yes, the "cobra" just escapes and returns to the dark waters of black goo. A3: The helmet of Fifield was burned with acid and then it falls unconscious on the black goo (obviously with the face exposed). A4: It is David who infects Holloway, and is only a small drop of black goo in his finger. David introduces the black liquid in a glass of whisky, vodka or whatever in the drink of Holloway. A5: Yes, The Engineer dies...the movements of his corpse are the result of the birth of the Proto-Xeno IMO...but who knows...

could someone discribe how does the sacrificial engineer desintregrates?

he drinks the death milkshake and we start seeing black veins thread through him, his skull melts and his brain shows, then his leg snaps and he falls off the waterfall - when he gets to the bottom, bits of his body fall off turning into black stuff and disintegrate into the water

@cp84 the music is from chopin's raindrop prelude, david is playing it at the beginning too. parts of it were in the ads for halo 3 a few years back

shanebai Do you happen to know who actually performs Chopin's prelude? Was it performed and recorded exclusively for the movie or some earlier recording was used? Best, P
