Saw it last night and ........ (spoiler-free)

@westy not sure if you have seen it dude, but cameron-to-the-rescue is spot on with his assessment. Its a poorly constructed mish-mash - bad storytelling in the extreme - Horrific amateur hour screenplay. Sheeesh and people hacked on James Camerons Avatar! - That movie is like it was created by God himself, and we were aloud a glimpse into a heavenly afterlife in comparison to Lindeloffs convoluted mess!!

@westy look at the basic story of Prometheus Man discovers aliens created them by finding hyroglifs and images in sites around the globe Man sets off to discover their origins which could end up leading to the destruction of earth the human race Prometheus is basically avp in space with a big budget and no predators or xeno's the use of the jockey and weyland is just a very clever marketing ploy to make fans believe that a generations worth of questions would be answered over all everyone has there own opioins and my overriding one of Prometheus is this Had the potential to be great but failed on an epic scale this opinion is based on seeing the movie once and I am going to see it again just to see if my own high expectations have clouded my judgement but I cant see my first instincts being changed

I refuse to believe its as bad as AVP. That was an embarrassment. I'm seeing it Friday, so I can judge for myself. I'm not afraid to call a turd a turd though.

Cinefan, I appreciate you watching it yourself to make up you're own mind. I would have done the same. You seem intelligent from doing so. I saw it last night and refer you to the screename of the OP. I have no idea how anyone could see it as a success, that is just my honest opinion.

Pretty much 9/10 of critics worth their salt have given it a positive rating...if you're comparing it to AVP, then you really don't know what you're talking about. It's not an alien prequel, it's Prometheus, nobody promised you any answers. A different story in the same universe.

As for it not being as bad as AVP, I truely beleive you will change you're mind on watching the movie. I hope you find alot of things you like though. I could not myself.

Westy, a story answers the questions it raises, maybe one or two are left untold for a sequel. But this was not even like that, it was down to a poorly written script, it felt like alot of scenes were not even shot, like they ran out of money to complete the movie and just put together what they had. I wish I was joking.

It's not as good as AvP, honestly it just isn't. Wanting somthing badly dosn't make it happen, I, like everyone here just wished a year away in anticipated fever and got stood-up at the alter.

So we have the Avp lovers hating it ...its a good start .

@The High Priest Your abso-f*****g-lutely right. I'm not even sure if I want this in my DVD collection. I'm kidding of course, if it's a director's cut with about another 60 minutes grafted back into it. The film script was as barren as LV462, the acting as stiff as a face huggers pointy thing and the vision.................? Sound of insects chirping.
