....the trailers showed everything. And I mean everything, plot wise. There were no surprises for me at all. It was just a matter of enjoying it unfold. Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoyed every minute of it, and, although flawed, I believe it is a truly excellent movie. It just would have been nice to have been shocked or suprised at at least one point in the movie.

do you not feel that the trailers misled the audience into feeling this movie was something it was? as a alien fan i saw the trailer and i believed a generation of questions would finally be answered this is not the movie i went in there expecting to see just a below par sci fi flick wrapped in alien wrapping paper to get the audience through the door

Hey guys and girls I saw prometheus last night. I took my friend to see it whos not seen any of the alien films thinking it will be good to set him up for the whole events of things. But he come out going emm dont really get it ?. I felt like there wasnt a lot of questions answered it just seems to jump from piller to post. Like most people have said most of the film was shown in the trailers and there wasnt anything scary like mr scott was saying, there was no surprises or shocks it seem to be like i had a feeling this and that would happen. Ive never been so excited about a film in years and living up to its expectations was a big let down. :( Not a good two days for me Thursday saw Guns N Roses they didnt turn up till 11 pm and Prometheus yesterday :(. Hopefully they will release a directors cut that might explain things more.

I think the thing is we see all these Trailers and what Ridley said... And we speculated between the lines to what fits the trailers and such together...... some speculated and made up fake screen reviews aswell lol. But then the gaps to join these trailers are actually not as in depth or explored as much as our speculations....

I stopped watching trailers a few years back after having so many movie experiences ruined by them. I only watched the first trailer which didn't reveal too much in my opinion. I was shocked and scared to tell the truth. :) Great experience. My advice: no matter how interesting some film may seem like, don't watch the trailer.
