Not Bad.... Some Wasted Opportunity.. but Great Potential.

Saw the Movie Thursday Night and while if you look at the movie as a Stand Alone its not bad..... but far from great, some may say that its plot is good but while the idea is very very good, the execution is not good. Plots wise it may at the basics have more depth than AVP, but it executes this with less detail, well somethings not so much make sense, they just are not finished. The only way to describe it would be if the movie was say 3 hours long but you had a weak bladder and you went off to the toilet a number of times and missed parts of the movie, what you would recall is basically how this movie goes. Another 45 mins giving some kind of ending to some parts (and i am not on about the end of the movie) and it could have worked. The movie is not open ended, its points to a sequel which can go in one of two ways.. Without being too spoilerish, it would be like say the end of Alien or Aliens you see the Xeno end up landing on a planet and living, while still then having the other part of the ending. There are a lot of cast members who we think we would see more of a story with who we do not, so its just about Shaw and David really. Its not like the others are cannon fodder, because the death scenes are well very disapointing hey they would get PG13 lol.... So the action/death scenes there are not a lot, and what there is its kind of like say having a Nightmare on Elm Street or the Thing lol and having to cut the action/death scenes to be a PG-13 with a little more blood. Its not the lack of gore, its just the scenes are very disapointing..... you would know what i mean if you saw them i.e Fifield scene. Theres not much more going on than you already seen. Visually the movie is good, the scenes look fantastic, the scence of depth in 3D is great. Speciall Effect wise such as explotions, gorre etc, this movie is far from ground breaking. I am not picking at this movie because of the Alien link.... because i can see a fair bit but some of it its due to interpretation only Janek comes up with the idea that they stumbled upon the Engineers secret testing military facility for their Bio Weapons... this combined with David 8 finding out they was going to Earth gives you idea behind what their plan was..... But not why..... The Alien links are not direct, best way i can put it is if you take Star Wars. And some watch Phantom Menance and then go... "that was crap, where was the Storm Troppers, where was Vader i want to see Vader" Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith give the Empire and Vader fans their wishes... And i do think a Prometheus 2 has potentially, but it needs to add more depth to the way the story is told and not mish mashed... Oh as far as Alien DNA....... Yes you see it in that last 8 mins, one by the method of one Organism and the other more Xeno DNA but not exact.
