best moment in alien

there are too many, love the shocking revelation by Mother..Crew Expendable, leading to the scene with Ash.

I personally love the scene were Ash gropes Parkers moob!

Parker breaking wind as he sips his coffee! By far !

Parker eating his ice cream, guy eats a lot!

Bret looking for jonesy still makes my heart race even tho I know what's coming

or when Kane ask Lambert to quit griping, and Lambert says 'I like griping' too cute

There are so many, I should rank my favorite bits: 1- Dallas looking for the creature in the ventilation duct. That was nerve wrecking, pure Hitchcock. 2- Brett looking for the cat, ending up with the unfortunate first encounter with the already grown creature. The economy of that sequence is admirable and moody; the little details of hanging chains, silent machinery, water dropping from the ceiling... and a first glance at a Carlo Rambaldi/Giger's biomechanical killing machine! 3- Kane discovering the egg chamber. Majestic. Jerry Goldsmith score is incomparable here. 4- Ripley/Ash confrontation. This scene pulls the rug from under your feet. 5- Alien's birth from Kane's chest. Classic. A lesson in practical special effects. 6- Ripley discovering the monster is in the emergency pod. 7- Self-destruction countdown (I hate Mother) 8- Nostromo's crew waking up 9- Kane's medical exam. The scientific/medical information exposition is brilliant. 10- Acid chase And there are so many others...I wonder how many of these kind of memorable moments Prometheus has...

does it just have to be one..? there are too many to mention, but i saw ALIEN last night on cable (directors cut - - blegh!) so the film is fresh in my mind off the top of my head, my favorite scenes are: • the landing sequence • the epic tracking shot of the Space Jockey's first appearance • countdown to auto-destruct • ejection of the alien out of the Scuttle Narcissus (just to name a few) =)

@Spartacus Amazing.. I remembered I had sticker cards from Superman, that lasted for decades on the windows of my small studio at my grandparents house. I wonder if these Alien cards can be found on Ebay...

Brett looking for the cat - this is still one of the scariest scenes ever committed to film and was masterfully done. The building of tension and in your head you're screaming get out, just move, without actually seeing or hearing anything to suggest the alien is actually there - in fact I'd argue he could still have walked out with nothing happening and you'd be no less frightened but would have had an overwhelming sense of relief!

Watching Ripely climb into the spacesuit then loading that cross bow. Suave.

It has to be the chestburster scene. Classic.

Im going to have to say the best moment of Alien. Was when Kane was being lowered into the Egg Chamber. Followed By the Dallas Chase Scene. To whoever asked. I have a full set of movie cards for Alien Aliens and Alien 3.
