The propulsion system of the 'derelict'

Come on.
For me, any machine that has PLASMA for control system, really should just have some sort of SILENT anti-gravity propulsion system. Reference: the Nebuqednezar in THE MATRIX or 'something', anything else other than SmacSonic(tm).
Screw the convoluted and non-dramatic fiery-smoke chase scene. Could have just left it with the opening iris escape element; that would have sufficed.
When it 'takes off' I really couldn't believe there were FLAMES pouring out of the arms of the thing. It looked wrong, like it was flying BACKWARDS.
For me, 'the derelic' ALWAYS flew arms first. Anyway, I'd have preferred a fully explanatory final scene with David/Shaw actually activating the second ship and setting coordinates for Engineer Home.
The 'derelict' should have BLINKED OUT with some sort of hyper-drive vanishing act, leaving a gorgeous vortexial hole in the overcast sky, after it lifted into the sky.
Maybe it's just me.
