Harsh in places but fair overall now get me on that fence (spoilers-inside)

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS when i 1st saw prometheus on friday i was devasted how could ridley and his team do this to speak of this movie in the same breath as alien spits in the eye (or not in case of a xeno) of his greatest creation WHY WHY WHY I cried then i got to thinking is it just me so i joined this site to see if lifelong fans like myself had also been dissapointed some did some didnt some people think it was well written directed some dont its the way of life so after chatting with some fans of the movie i decided to give it another chance and ill write my findings when i get back feel free to tell me what ya think ok just been to see it again to see if my emotion at not getting the movie i wanted got the better of me and it did dont get me wrong this is not a great movie it is an above average sci flick that would have benefitted from no ties to the alien franchise at all the jockys could have so easily been a totally different alien in fact im a little dissapointed the jockey is just a man in a suit and on the 2nd viewing ive learned that you have to turn your brain off to what has gone before in order to enjoy it all in all if this film started off as an alien pequel and morphed into prometheus which was a mistake in my eyes but its not my movie is the writting poor and full of holes yes baby cuddles born in one scene and forgot about in the next. Shaw and Holloway find a cave painting and in 30 seconds decide its an invite to a galactic sit down with the creators to name 2 this reeks of lindorfs writting on lost which i managed around a season and a half before i realised i was just not that bothered about it can you see where the writers have been lazy in taking prometheus away from alien yes the ampules were obviously eggs in the 1st draft.Cuddles is probably just facefugger or chestburster we know and love in that draft im assuming on the plus side tho is there a sci fi movie out there that looks as good as this no its grand in scale visually stunning right down to the promethues proximity warnings looking like the nostromos self destruct warnings screens this part of the movie RS has excelled maybe to the detrement of character development but again its his movie so having seen this movie twice my conclussion is this if you are an alien fan and walk into theatres with high expections of something remotely resembling the film you love your f***ed and you will leave dissapointed if you going into prometheus with little or no expectaions you just want a good old fashioned sci fi movie its not that bad even pretty good in parts i still feel cheated that the movie we wanted has not been made but with a bit of luck prometheus is the prequel to the prequel and we will get our answers eventually and I have to say i did enjoy it more on the 2nd viewing once id discarded what I thought this movie should have been still no need for a flute tho
