The fall of Weyland(s) empire - a catalyst for the next movie

The head of Yutani probably steps in to take control...but after like 5 years the true son of Weyland ( the REAL David ) leads a takeover. The head and David form a truce, and form Weyland-Yutani.

I had just started a thread similar to this.As it stands it is just Weyland as a company,Yutani intrigues me,perhaps they are involved already through David and his odd behaviour? Why do we see a merger of the 2 in Alien?

A logical conclusion could be..... Weyland Corp back on Earth, does not hear from Weyland but then they would assume he is dead due to age and that Vickers would be heir to the Company but off course she bites the dust.... This could open up Yutani to fund its own mission and maybe force Weyland and Yutani to join..... and then set off a mission to LV 223.

Would think so, seeing as a trillion dollars just went down the drain. However, with Weyland lost, I'm thinking some of the data they found had to go back to Weyland HQ...a lot like the ships kept information on hand for the company to find out about at will in the other movies. They were very close if not deadly accurate on how information would be shared in the future, company ship...also has connection to company HQ...seems to be the case here. I'd think seeing Yutani buying a lot of Weyland or merging to save the huge enterprise company would be smart, with so much money lost on Prometheus, would be a prime time to merge...

I hope they will forget everything about Weyland , Yutani and all that kind of things ... and they will use the time to show a wonderful biomechanic dead world ...
