MemberOvomorphJun-06-2012 6:04 PMHi all,
Just to say I am loving the website. This is my first evrer post but rest assured I have been lurking here for the past 6 months thoroughly enjoying the discussions / banter and even arguments about this great alien universe!
Why do the engineers invite us to LV223 when it is clear they hate us and want to kill us? Is it basically someknid of test to say that when we have the technolgy to get there, then they know we have become technologically advanced enoght to become a threat to them - thus they know to then wipe us out?
Alternatively, I was thinking that maybe the engineers we see on LV223 were some kind of splinter group (bad guys), who don't agree with some of the life that the other engineers gave seeded around tha galaxy, hence thousands of years ago they killed the 'good' engineers based on LV223 (who we were meant to meet upon our arrival) with the agenda of devloping the black xenormorph DNA as means of wiping out any species i.e. humans they did not wnat created in the first place (perhaps they saw us as some kind of threat even before we were seeded and have basically just taken the law into their own hands and that is why they were coming to kill us??)
I haven't read every single thread so apologies if I have stepped on anyones toes with this discussion.......
Cheers!

MemberOvomorphJun-14-2012 8:31 PMI am sure this has been posted somewhere else but I am new to this so heres my thought. First I would like to add that I am not a religious person by any means. I actually consider myself an athiest, so being offended never occur's on a spiritural level. The (good) engineer in beginning created man in their image. There is a chance of the engineers maker being allmighty. Some engineers became jealous of humans, kinda like a fallen angel, and well want to destroy mankind. If an "fallen" enginner had drunk the goo i wonder what would have happened?

MemberOvomorphJun-06-2012 6:15 PMi like the idea that they left the message to see if when we response and come there, we are too technologized and must be wiped out. had that thought myself and would be pretty nice theory.
but the light and dark side of the jockeys is a great theme aswell. that they might have fought about what is allowed to be created or not. maybe the xenomorph was created to punish mankind in being hosts and nothing more.
nice idea and welcome to posting here than just looking around. its great having your own theories on things

MemberOvomorphJun-06-2012 6:30 PMever wanted to wipe out a crowd of chavs? obviously a lower life form lol.
perhaps the jockeys see us as chavs and take great pleasure getting rid of inferior creations....
to be honest , its just a film and when you put it all together its highly unlikely that a superior race would have anything to do with homo sapiens in case it got infected with stupid. i think the human race was dumped here to either work out its problems or die fighting each other for silly reasons and petty materielism. when you take the whole of space and all the galaxies etc it puts the small wars and foibles into perspective.
space jockeys? lol theyre probably saying ` oh fuck , here comes mankind. lets leg it!`
