GREAT review, BH. Saw this film in IMAX at midnite last night. Just AMAZING. Took a bunch of family and friends. Theater was PACKED and it was an intense ride, and a beautiful one, from beginning to end. I'd have to agree with it 100%, except for 2-3 things: 1) I did NOT enjoy the music. It was too "anthemic" and not tense enough. NOTHING like Jerry Goldsmith's original brilliant score that was so full of dissonance and tension, that even the music alone was scary. There was one scene that used a "mash up"/remix of one of the Goldsmith themes---can't remember exactly what it was, but it was interesting to hear...otherwise, the music just should've been SO MUCH BETTER... (SPOILER ALERT BELOW (I guess)) 2) The Weyland deal was plain corny. Sorry. BAD, even. The makeup was HORRIFIC. In fact, I think they could've COMPLETELY left out Weyland, and the movie would've been a million times better. I did NOT enjoy Pearce's role, and thought he overplayed it, but the makeup just made it a bazillion times worse. 3) The "David head" just did not look "good". The neck was WAY too long and just wasn't "right". And since he was so integral to the ending of the movie, it sort of took away from the ending IMHO. All in all, though I certainly feel this was at least a 4.5/5, and all the discussions on here leading up to the film only helped me enjoy it more. In fact, this is the kind of movie you can know the whole story beforehand, and yet STILL enjoy it from beginning to end. I cannot WAIT for the sequels---get to work Ridley! You're on the clock, and you don't YET have eternal life! Go see it in IMAX---you will NOT be sorry!

Agree in general with your opinion. Except I thought the music was great. Yes, the David head ending... how many times do we have to rip the head (or half) of an android apart before stroytellers say: "hmmm, been there done that.". I also felt Vickers end was a waist of a great character. I'll forgive it if she ends up being an android and we get to see her again. After all, I've never seen a human slam a replicant against a wall before like she did.

@db...I feel that in a "full cut", we would've seen that they developed Vickers a LOT more, and they she and David are probably "siblings", so to speak, but for whatever reason, RS and the editors chose to cut the exposition on her character....

@Otto - Agreed. But I loved the music....only problem for me is that it was repeated too much and was used in some parts where I'd prefer no music at all. I had the same feeling towards Davids head but its no big deal for me really. Weylands make up and performance was terrible in my opinion. He was excellent in the 2 viral videos as a young Weyland though. I hated Fifields cheap Philip Mitchell accent too...too fake and annoying.
