Is paradise (Prometheus 2) going to be set over 2 generations

One of the many overridding questions I have from Prometheus is WHY GUY PEARCE AS SIR PETER WEYLAND????? ( the caps are for you sparty ;-p) An actor of his calibre is simply wasted in the old man make up and with such little screen time.Then with the appearance of 10.11.12 it got me thinking have we seen the last of guy Pearce as mr weyland???? How would he fit into the sequel the guys dead?????? The only realistic way I can think of guy Pearces weyland to fit into paradise is for the movie to be set over 2 periods in time ala godfather pt2 With the appearance of project genesis and the news that shaw gave weyland prior knowledge of the the SJs the urns the chair etc adds weight to this argument in my opinion it opens are eyes a little to the fact we know very little of what happend in the period between the isle of Skye discovery and the events of Prometheus What do you think guys am I going crazy?? Would this premise work in a sequel? Is guy as weyland just bad casting As always look forward to hearing your thoughts guys X
