Favorite part?

David at the beginning. When he is on the ship alone.

The whole movie itself. The pacing, the acting, the atmosphere, the visuals and the epic ending. I love when the Space Jockey begins to prep his chair. It was all fantastic. Haters are gonna hate. I loved it all!

for me, it was the first 20 minutes i could actually feel my jaw drop when i was watching the waterfall sequence, there was an awesomeness to that particular scene that (sadly) wasn't really duplicated in the film as a whole just the look of that pale skinned entity was something to behold, and the first images of the PROMETHEUS craft in flight - - - - well, just breathtaking to behold

If you asked me what my favorite scene in ALIEN, ALIENS or ALIEN 3 was, I could easily tell you. This film, not so much. For me this film is about the whole, not a specific piece. Isolating a specific scene is just eh for me as nothing really AMAZED me, even though the sets and cinematography were beyond amazing.

Wait a sec...angelic...THEY TOTALLY DID THE ENGINEER LOOKS AS SYMBOLISM!!!!! WHY DIDN"T I NOTICE THIS EARLIER!!!!

- I adore cobraalien scene. Looks so REAL. - watching what david does and how he "ticks" - scene where shaw takes david head and they talk while leaving the derelict

Self abdominal surgery.

I like: -The epic began with the origins of complex life. -The scenes of David in the Prometheus. -the big head in the temple, with all the riddles and mysteries it offers. -The Hammerpede making mischief. -Baby Trilobite (aka Cuddles :p). -The Space Jockey chair. -the crash. - Engineer vs Trilobite and the birth of the Deacon.

Remember when David made out with Ford? That was awesome!

I liked the scenes with David alone on the ship as well. The thing about David that bugged me was his comment to Holloway about having to be as close to humans as possible yet he walks like he's got a corn cobb up his butt. I've seen stiff walkers but I've never seen anyone that walks like that. I do think it was good for the character and if he hadn't have made that comment I wouldn't have thought about it at all.

The awesome UFO in the beginning...the way it is touching the clouds, and starts to rise vertically as if the engineer is controlling it...epic When the engineer awakens and is watching all of them argue...however the scene becomes a let down when he just starts killing them...really wanted some screen time with this dude surgery scene is ruined by boring tentacle thing I quite like the final proto Xeno scene The movie as a whole is a huge letdown however

I also loved the entire film and it is hard to pick certain scenes so I see where some of you are coming from. The SHOT that I absolutely loved was when the Prometheus, very tiny, shot across the screen, from left to right, in the vast space with no sound at all. One thing that was done to death in EVERY space film since Star Wars was the HUGE ship taking up almost the entire frame floating with sound effects and grand music. This scene totally reversed that cliche and really gave you an idea of how big space is INSTEAD of the spacecraft. There were a few scenes in Alien that showed the Nostromo far away, somewhat small with the planets behind it but with music and the Nostromo was moving slow. This was definitely one of my favorite shots.

I just saw the film yesterday and really enjoyed. Seeing it again this coming week I too loved the look of the Engineer. They did a fantastic job on him. He seemed to radiate an ancient wisdom that bestowed an otherworldly surreal beauty. I was so looking forward to David waking him from stasis. That was a great scene. I definitely wanted more screen time with the Engineer. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Hard to choose 1 really. I really liked a lot of parts...David on the ship alone was definitely one of them...and the beginning with the huge UFO over the waterfall. Seeing the cobra hugger just looking at that idiot Milburn was great...I really like the cobra hugger itself but the scene wouldve been better if it was made to be scarier. C-Section. Giant face hugger raping the engineer.

People have criticized the score, but I thought the way the music worked with the Sacrificial Engineer at the beginning was quite moving. I wish he had spoken though, said something ceremonial..., it would have made him less of Frakenstein’s monster and created more sympathy for his sacrifice. I thought David's time alone—playing and studying doing his hair and watching Lawrence of Arabia was really clever and iconic. My favorite exchange in the film by far is: Shaw: I'm sorry. David: It's quite all right. [Zip] That was utterly brilliant. [u]That[/u] is science fiction; and the first time (for me) that the film and this whole new 'Alien Universe' became real. The thing I'm most upset about is the loss of the Engineers’ having spoken. What a wasted chance for additional complexity! Ugh. Perhaps there is some logic to it that will play out for the better in the next film. I hope so.

@sukkal...Man I LOVED the score too. I mean, I guess I see why people didn't like it but I thought it helped raise the film above just standard sci-fi/horror. It gave it a deep "spiritual" feeling. "Spiritual" doesn't really describe what I mean. Hard to explain. However, I don't agree with you about the Engineers talking. I'm glad they didn't. It would have made them "smaller" for me if that makes any sense. Besides, what would they have said? Would you want subtitles, have David translate or just have what they said be a mystery? I guess if what they said was left unexplained I would have dug it. Other than that I'm glad they didn't speak.

Basically any scene including David. I couldn't believe how much I was cracking up. By far my favorite character in the whole movie. If I could be given another scene, it has to be the moment you see Ripley in Shaw when she confronts the Space Jockey at the end and opens up Cuddles on him. L.o.v.e.d. seeing Shaw confront the beings she had so much faith in that had let her (and the human race) down. Kick-a$$ Shaw...

When starts up the ship hologrpahic part and the enigneer takes the seat we all love and rmember from ALIENS

@Engineering— Watching the trailers, I assumed that the Engineers would all be "Frankenstein's Monster" and just lumber around, and I kind of wanted it to be that way. But, the fact that one of them has to sacrifice himself in a painful death in order to fulfill whatever their goals are made me feel rather connected to them. If Shaw and David are off to their home world (which I'm calling E’sh), verbal communication is inevitable. They are much more interesting to me because they share verbal communication based on a vocal tract with us. The two things that separate us from the other animals on earth are our particular brand of language and art. The Engineers demonstrate both of these. If we can't share real communication with them, they might as well be xenos.
