Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

Greatest strength of Prometheus - Gave more questions than answers , I believe.

Ridley's Alien

Having see so many weird topics discussed on this forum over past year, I did have my doubts of what happens once the film is released. Now its out , still the forum continues in full strength with so much more discussions on what's next expected. I think this the movie's greatest strength (all the negative reviews notwithstanding) . The film has spawned a lot new ideas and thoughts on what happened or what what next to be expected in possible sequels. I am sure this was the true goal of Ridley Scott & Fox studio - a new mythology. If box office returns too match this, then we have a new franchise. Hope that we do get to see more thoughtful pictures in the same universe.

Agreed. I hope it does well enough for sequels.

More than any other film, I'm left thinking more about the next one as opposed to this one. If you don't over think it and just break it down, the crew, seeking their creator, meets 1 "engineer". He's slumbering, is awoken to find a team of midgets has breached the security of his military weapons facility. He doesn't know or care who we are. When David is unconvincing delivering what he thinks is the secret password, the Engineer shoots first and .......... That's it, subtext aside, that's what happens in the movie. So, what are we left with? "I'm still searching"..........zzzziiiipppppPOW !!! (That's the jump to light speed) Forget everybody else. They're DEAD!!! All we have now is one bad ass little believer and David, both about to drop a cold call on the Engineers equivalent of DC. The sequel might be titled "The Day Zeta Reticuli Major Stood Still".

@astromax "More than any other film, I'm left thinking more about the next one as opposed to this one" 100% agreed. Great way of stating it. That's exactly my biggest complaint. I think it's great that a film makes you want more, but not in the method of keeping it's plot so open ended that you never get any type of resolution whatsoever. Alien made me want more, but that movie ended. James Cameron devised a way to keep it going and it became even MORE interesting...
