Where did the Goo come from is a good question. We know whoever uses it wields great power. There is no end to the combinations of things that you can add a dab of Goo Too and get a result from. Perhaps a certain combo produced longer life, super intellgience and then certain death too. Perhaps those murals are warning posters on not to duplicate this GOO experiment. They may be saying: This one proves fatal to engineers. Thats why you got an Engineer scheduled to go back to earth and kill it all off.
