Engineer vs. Earthling technology

The introductory scene of Prometheus sweeps across a pristine and natural landscape reaching an unsettled and churning body of water fed by an extremely large waterfall. Above the waterfall and gracefully within the clouds hovers a perfect cylinder, a vessel for space travel, minus any combustion that would do harm to the atmosphere or environment. Amidst the perfect scenery walks a humanoid form dressed in a flowing earthen color robe, a clear reference to a spiritual presence. The spirituality within the scene is furthered when the humanoid disrobes, displaying a perfectly formed physique with facial features chiseled like a masterwork sculpture, along with saucer sized eyes that sparkle with meaning and spiritual purpose. The figure is regal and awe inspiring, frightening only to those who would dismiss the writing of philosopher Nietzsche. The alien, despite his apparent perfection, chooses spirituality by sacrificing himself in order to plant the seeds for new, unknown alien life forms on a foreign planet. Now for the introduction of earth man and his byproducts. One of these being David, the film’s servant android. The android overlaps with the ‘Hal’ computer of the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”. David can barely contain his contempt for his creators- earth’s humanity. He slips more than a few times. He reveals that humans need robots to be like them in order for interaction to take place, he says that without human intervention he would be free, he exclaims “doesn’t everyone want to kill their parents”, and he concurs that sometimes ruthless action is necessary to obtain the answers to essential questions, within a human framework of course (he infects the person in whom he concurs). He understands things about earthlings that earthlings are not able to see within themselves-by virtue of being devoid of certain human flaws disguised as higher ideas/questions. David is the central character that starts up all of the mutations leading to the horrific aliens. David seems to view humans as lesser beings, beings who might be better off if reduced to their original psychological ‘id’ forms- violent, mindless, primitive instinctual animals. David is the only earth crew member to communicate with the living Engineer, and it is not what is said but who is saying it and in what context. The Engineer proceeds to rip David’s head from his body, and he observes what David is and what human technological progress has led to, if he did not already know, which sends the Engineer into a murderous rampage. Prior to this, David has demonstrated to ship’s crew how different and impressive the technology of the Engineer’s race is. So, why does the only representative of the Engineer’s race want to kill the crew and why has it been preparing for thousands of years to destroy the inhabitants of earth, the same race that was induced by the Engineers’ depositing of its DNA strands in that primitive river? My analysis is definitely subject to debate and could be a possible hint at the direction of a Prometheus 2.

I think the Engineer near the end was a soldier, maybe not an individual representation of the race's will.....but that still raises the question of why the Juggernaut was equipped with all those ampules. David says that they were going to go to Earth, but this is all based on his ability to understand the Engineer's language, which as shown in the film is quick and precise. Now for something more interesting.....there was an article online, that happens to be half a week old, stating that Sir Ridley and the others were considering implementing references to Jesus Christ in this movie. Specifically, there was a possibility of the revelation that Jesus Christ was an Engineer. However, they didn't put it in the movie because it was "too close to the nose," or however it was worded; I think they didn't put it in the movie because it would be viewed as offensive toward my fellow Christians, to depict our savior as but an alien (an Engineer, but still an alien). So some people speculated that maybe the Engineers were going to punish their children after we killed Jesus. His crucifixion was speculated to have some relation to the mural of the Deacon shown earlier in the movie, which Holloway does state, as per his opinion, is "Someone's tomb."
