Noomi Rapace (as Elizabeth Shaw) left LV-223 with David's head on her way with a Cross to "The Engineers" Home World. It is assumed that "The Alien" that was born LV-233 arrived on LV-426 before the character "Elizabeth Shaw" with David; arrived on "The Engineers" Home World. Thoughts?

The Significant of Elizabeth's Cross Here are my thoughts on this. Elizabeth is a survivor or has a strong survival instinct. Baked into human DNA is survival, fight or flight. However, having a talisman or religious symbol is something that humans feel gives them a bit of an edge in all situations. All human cultures have had these things. The cross is one symbol for god and it also mentally empowers the wearer that some additional force is with them to protect, defend and look out for. This is purely intangible scientifically but it does not matter because it does add some mental edge to the game of life or death. The Cross in this case symbolizes that External Power beyond that of the physical world we see and hear and touch which we all hope and pray watches out for us, aids us and sustains us. If the Engineers are Gods because they can manipulate DNA then so be it. If the Engineers created all human being then OK it does not matter. The Engineers are physical beings. They have symbols they use who knows if they believe in a non-physical God. For Shaw, she believes in an all powerful God and that is OK even if the Engineers are our creators. Because clearly the Engineers are not all powerful since they can get dead by runaway DNA experiments.

Different timelines. The LV 426 Alien eggs precede the LV 223 Deacon in the order of time within the Alien universe, although the Alien is born after the events of Prometheus take place. About forty years later. Ridley Scott, in an interview, said that the Alien space jockey landed on LV 426 either 100 years before the events of Prometheus or 100 years before the events that destroyed the engineers of LV 223. I think it's the latter. So the Alien of LV 426 is a different species than the Deacon of LV 223.

Elizabeth's Cross is probably THE most central theme of the film. Since she saved it through great adversity, and it is assumed she took it to "The Engineers" Home World. I'm looking for more enlightened responses than the two above
