The Queen

I have been seeing the same thing over and over and I think it is time I come out and say it. The Queen was created by James Cameron. The Queen was not made by Ridley Scott. The Queen was never in the original Alien movie in any way. The Queen is not a part of the Aliens original life cycle as depicted by Ridley. The Queen is not in Prometheus in any way shape or form. The "Deacon/Proto Xeno" is not a Queen, it will not turn into a Queen. The inclusion of a Queen in anything Ridley makes goes against EVERYTHING he said about avoiding the original Alien. --- Are we clear?

Well it was not part of the Orginal Cycle, but Ridley has accepted the idea of the Queen. And its a great concept when you actually see what the Xeno became, compared to the change humans into eggs one.. Ridley has not said the Decon does not lead to the Queen or Xeno he has said nothing so we are going to be left with the debate about does Xeno come from Decon or did it occur ages ago. The Orgins of the Xeno will be left unanswered thats part of the mystrey and the Decon adds to it, because they will not say if it does or does not so again another mystrey. The aim is purely so we can all debate about it and all have different conclusions. Ridley will in his other movies steer away from the Xeno and he may even go away from everything that the Temple had, and purely explore the Engineers and their creators in a Prometheus 2. Wether he will in that movie or the next one, touch upon the Xeno Orgins even if vaguely is not known and we just dont know where Ridley will take us once he has explored the Engineers homeworld.

ah yes, the queen.... SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS in every way, just a prop for Aliens to have a SECOND WIND climax against a loader-driving heroine. For me, though I enjoyed the leery rollercoaster ride that was Aliens, they totally broke the enigma that was 'something that might still be able to MORPH its freakish way through the ship via some sort of acidic secretion or live body mutation'. For me, the xenomorph in A L I E N wasn't a fixed silhouette and at all times could 'alter itself' to subvert any obstacles it came across. Weakened, that's what Cameron did to the barely-seen protagonist in the original film.

Of course I loved the Queen in Aliens and the following movies after. But that is where she must remain, it was an interesting idea but I do not care for it to be used again.

I agree with Nick! I do not even to se a queen, but something altogether different and really alien to us. I never liked the ant hive idea in Aliens, it made it so much more not scary. I was a bit disappointed seeing the deacon first, but after watching the movie 3 times, it has really grown on me.

lol I've been posting this around the forums since I got here. Glad someone else stated it as well. While Ridley may have liked the Queen in terms of filmmaking (he is friends with Cameron after all) it wasn't in O'Bannon's vision for the ALIEN's lifecycle in the 1976 script or the finished shot version in 1979. The Xeno was alaways supposed to be able to gestate its prey in to more eggs (once again the deleted seen from ALIEN). @ BigDave - not being rude when I ask this, but, where does Ridley say that he accepted the Queen as a part of the lifecycle? I genuinely would like to know haha moving on lol - In fact, the lifecycle of the Xeno is once again shown throughout the murals of the Engineers, and no mention of a Queen being responsible for the Xeno's creation or use by the Engineers. Therefore the "The Deacon" isn't going to become a Queen, BUT it may lead to a further mutation of the Xenos. In the "Art of Prometheus" the last few pages are the Xeno walking out of the lifepod and heading towards the crashed Juggernaught. Wonder if that was storyboard or just concept. If it was storyboard, I wonder if it got shot and cut. And if THAT'S the case! haha you get the idea. Honestly, the movie could've and would've been fine without seeing the Xeno in any form. I'm convinced of this after watching it at home like 9-10 times now. The cam version cuts off right before the The Deacon shows up, and that's because the guy obviously thought the movie was over. I found a cam version of JUST The Deacon shot and after running the two back to back, it does feel tacked-on slightly. Maybe it shoulda went the way The Thing did it and run concurrent to the end credits, or better yet at the END of the film after the credits as a "bonus" for those who stayed.

What happened to the Tentacleed-Alien? I don't recall seeing it either around or in the vacinity after it latches onto his face and torso, exchanges its inner contents, we cut away to some other scene then after cutting back IT, the great lug of a THING is gone, vanished! At least I don't recall seeing it again as I was to engrossed watching to se what fate awaited the Bio Enginner. Did anyone else see what became of the Tentacled Creature?

And to pick up on the alien xenomorphs and that of the queens life cycle, they are capable to evolve themselves as I have read up on it anyway by other means should one route to incubation success be barred to htem or blocked by other interceeding circumstances. The original creators wanted to create a get out clause for the alien should it be faced with the threat to its own survival and even extiction at that. I'm sure Ridley is making a nod to all of the alien franchise films with regards to some interiors of the Prometheus look like the Nostromo. David palying basket ball is like Ripley playing in Alien Ressurection , there are some power loaders in the machine bay down below where all the vehicles are parked. if not there then they were included in the production but perhaps not used or seen in the final edit of the film. And yes, I think the skull atop the temple dome is both a nod to Ressurection and to some of the original production work for Alien that was never committed to film in the end.
