How was the 3D here? For those that see it in 3D can you tell me the quality?
Is the 3D as good as the Madagascar 3 movie in 3D?
Madagascar 3 (3D vresion) was wow, blow me away, eventhough it cartoons, LOL!
And a question in Prometheus, did they tell why "the Engineer" ship crashed?
at first I thought those alien attack the engineer and make the ship crash, but then I learn that it was "the engineer" that created those aliens, LOL! My bad
So why did "the engineer" ship got crashed? And how come there was only 1 "engineer" left survive?
Thank you.

The 3D was pretty good, but not great. For example, I liked the scene where David plays with the hologram on the alien ship. But I didn't feel like I was in 3D for most of the movie. 3D can be distracting. So perhaps that is a good thing.
As for "the Engineer" ship, they did not explain that. But one could assume that the aliens DID make the ship crash by attacking he engineers the same way they did in the hologram scene in this Prometheus movie.

3d was amazing. For sure a 3d experience. No, this movie doesn't explain directly the Derelict ship in Alien, on Lv426.. although you do get to see it's direct cousin.

How was the 3D here? For those that see it in 3D can you tell me the quality?
I saw it twice in IMAX 3D and once in Real 3D. In my opinion, Real 3D was a waste of money.
There was a tell-tale scene towards the end where the engineer plots a point to Earth and it comes out at the screen. In IMAX 3D, I could practically touch it. In Real 3D, I would have had to go all the to the screen to touch it. The 3D was disappointingly "non-existent" in Real 3D, IMHO, and my experience.
And a question in Prometheus, did they tell why "the Engineer" ship crashed?
The engineer's ship (called a juggernaut) in the movie, Prometheus, crashed because the Prometheus rammed it. This happened on the moon, LV-223. In the movie, Alien, that engineer ship, referred to as the "derelict", force landed on that planet, LV-426 (also called Acheron), some 2,200 years prior to the events in Prometheus. Two different ships and two different planetary bodies. The ship in Aliens was a slightly older "brother" in its design and carried xenomporph "bio-weapon" eggs. It is speculated that it too was headed towards Earth to wipe out the Roman Empire plus everyone else on the planet. The engineers "put all their eggs in one basket" and something got loose and the pilot was forced to land on LV-426. As it did so, it activated a warning/distress beacon telling engineers to stay away. There was no chance of recovery given the dangerous nature of the cargo.
So why did "the engineer" ship got crashed?
Look above.
And how come there was only 1 "engineer" left survive?
Because there was a bio-weapon containment outbreak at their military outpost where they had been reverse-engineering the xenomorph bio-weapon. This is why is looks different when you see it at the end.

I watched the digital 3D version and it was outstanding, for the engineer's ship crashed as they depart to earth to wipe out the entire humanity, so Janek use PROMETHEUS to crush the engineer's ship.......^^

saw it in Real3D and it was good with slow movement of screen/elements but utterly BROKE when anything moved quite fast.
I reported all this in my spoiler-free June 2nd Scene360 review of Prometheus but later had the editor take it out as it was a bit whiney.

Oh thank you,
It just confuse to me, maybe because I didn't really follow the whole Alien series.
I know the "engineer" ship that was driven by that one survive engineer crash because the Prometheus ship crash into it, the prometheus captian and the other 2 guys did it to save earth, because Shaw say that "engineer" ship will fly to earth and destroy earth. This part I get it.
okie, so let me get this straight, the "engineer" ship is the one that was found, the one that contain the survive engineer body in it. The one that the captian say to turns the model around and they see it was a ship, at first I thought it was some sort of cave, lol, so that ship is the same ship that was crash at the end by the Prometheus, got it.
So before Prometheus ship crash into it, that engineer ship was not crash? It was just laying there? then how to explain all those images that they seen of those "engineer" running around, and those "engineer" body that is dead laying in the ship?
remember the 2 crew that got stuck during the storm, and they found whole bunch of dead bodies before they got attack by some sort of alien worm, are those the engineer bodies?
If so, who killed them?
oh, I just read the reply, it was the bio weapon outbreak?
thank you for everyone time to help me, sorry i have alot of question, kindda confusing, I need go see it again.

Some scenes are so fast that it is hard to follow in 2D, and 3D even more...
No need to see it in 3D, that effect was good in Avatar (which had the lack of a disney-like story..sorry) but 3D disturbs the overall expirience (IMO) i would go for 2D.

The thing I see with 3d is that if the movie is going to have an 'epic' movie environment.. think large halls or frequent landscape shots, then you want the 3d. If the camera is always tight in, the 3d is distracting. Thor 3d? Yes. Avengers 3D? meh.
Prometheus 3D. Yes. You want to see the planetary shots in 3D and it does not detract from the in ship shots especially when you are looking at their 3D screens in the ship in 3D.

Heck I'm going for IMAX 3D tomorrow here in my theater
I was going to see it in 3D last time, but I was the ONLY ONE in the theater during that showtime watching in 3D, I got scare since I do not want to sit in a theater all by myself seeing a movie, so I went to see the 2D show time instead, LOL!
And can anyone confirm this question for me, it been bothering me, I can't seem to piece it together
Remember the 2 crew that got stuck during the storm, and they found whole bunch of dead bodies before they got attack by some sort of alien worm, are those the engineer bodies?
If so, who killed them? was the bio weapon outbreak?
