Look's awesome! Hopefully it will be in the extended cut on DVD & Blu-ray!

I'd be pretty pissed too if someone had hit my ship... although that gif gets annoying after 10 secs XD

Its the scene that Ridley Scott talked about ... its will not be probably in the extended cut but will be avaiable from the menu of the "deleted scenes".
Ridley did say the scene was cut because shaw did put up more than a fight and would be not nice to show a so poweful creature having a bad time with a tiny woman :p

I will be writing a thread later whereby I argue that there are deliberate parts of the viral marketing that throw us off the scent.
(why all the rush to relase these unseen clips right at theatre time? )

This is so awesome, thanks for posting this, I do really hope there'll be an extended scene for Shaw vs The Engineer that will feature in the Blu-ray......^^

FYI ... There is an interview with Scott about the extra footage I read yesterday right here on our forum and in it he says he cut it out because she puts up a big fight and hurts him with the ax in it and he did not want to give the impression that Humans could even put a dent in it, he wanted for the Engineer to come out looking so incredibly powerful and felt that her doing that would diminish the appearance of his strength and power.

that would be a nice addition to the original footage.
sigh... so much that could have been kept, and so much that could have been done.

RESTORE ALL FILMS TO THEIR ORIGINAL FULL-LENGTH LENGTH
come on!
PS: where you sourcing this footage from?
PPS: bet it still doesn't help THE VIEWER understand w.t.h. is going on.
PPS: bring on the DVD.
2013 sci-fi horror novels 'Custodian' and 'Tandem' available from Amazon, B&N, iTunes etc...

All he is doing is one handed bench presses lol..
@Frantz
Who knows i guess Fox will have a lot to say about that and you can bet that down the line there will be a extended edition.
so maybe they will appear as extras on DVD but maybe some will also appear on Blue-Ray and a extended edition as on Blu-Ray you could fit both and extras.
But i think down the line we shall see a cut of the movie with the full scene.
I mean how many cuts did Blade Runner have? I lost count lol
I think these kinds of scenes like the Elder Engineer scene would have helped give more depth and help some scenes flow better.
That was my main gripe with the movie, it seemed to me like a 160 min movie that had to be cut to say 125min and thus some linking scenes cut out and other shortened and thats why some parts seemed to not flow together and some just seemed rushed.
If the movie would had been 2 hours 27 mins prior to cuts then i would hope to see that longer cut of the movie that i feel would show the Elder Engineer scene prior to the Sacrifice and the full Engineer attack on Shaw.
I think some minutes would be added for some gore that Ridley said was cut so the movie would make Cert 15 etc as potentially if means more income at box office.
Again with movies since the DVD, a lot of companies do this kind of stuff as they know they can milk the cow.
Some who may not have been 100% satisfied with Prometheus who may not bother with the DVD/Blu-Ray when it comes out (until it drops in price to like bargain basements i.e under $10)... by having a DVD release that has extras and extended editions is a way of getting those people to buy them...
for me the movie was ok, some areas great others well flawed, i did enjoy it but wont watch it a 3rd time at Box Office...... However if say in August they released a Special Edition that was the full 2hr 27 minutes then yes i would go pay to see that one.

I see his point about how he felt the scene showed the Engineer come unstuck with Shaw... but she has a AXE.....
I mean Rappace would stand a good chance against Mike Tyson if she had a Axe....
So i dont see why it was all cut....
This seems to show him pick her up by throat and we can assume she smacks him with the Axe and he drops her....
They could shown that, and then the scene where she is on the floor and he walks over to her (as seen in trailers)....
Nope i have a feeling its purely to make more money than anything else.

I don't think for one moment that the extended cut will resolve anything in the overall story but it might help the pacing somewhat.
I'm so looking forward to the commentary by lindelof and scott that will give some insight into the reasons and overall story that they wished to convey and the thinking going into this film in respect of the possibility of fore knowledge
of perceived or not sequels to the stand alone film.
The fact scott has already eluded to the point that he has breathed new life into the franchise, on that point alone you can say he's succeeded.

I agree, none of the deleted scenes will drastically change the movie if added. You either liked it or you didn't. Watching it again with the extra scenes won't change your opinion either way.

I hate it when the protagonist, or other main character manages to survive an altercation with a very physically powerful antagonist, be it an alien or robot etc. Yet it managed to dispatch the rest of the cast with ease. Most of the Alien movies have been pretty good at showing that if a Xeno gets within striking distance, well then it's "Game Over, man". I can't remember if the Engineer manages to get a hold of Shaw before she lets "Cuddles" in. If it did then that just sucks as we'd just seen it take out an android, two armed bodyguards, a very very old man & a Scottish hermaphrodite, all in a matter of seconds.
One of the worst offenders was Terminator Salvation. Every time the Terminator gets hold of John Connor, it decides to see how far it can throw him, instead of just snapping his neck.

Well there is 20 mins of footage, if the uncut movie was 2hrs 27 min..
Now the Elder Engineers having a conversation with the Sacrificial Engineer before he went off to perform his sacrifice would add a few minutes, and the extended Shaw attack would add a few more.
But then extended attack scenes and uncut gore scenes would not make up the rest so there has to be more scenes...
Who knows maybe there is a scene with David and Weyland after they come back from the Temple and this scene is prior to the Vickers/David Try Harder one?
I think the Engineer was portrayed as being really tough in the one scene but it does look like they get destroyed with ease by the Xeno or what ever else that they created.
so really are the Engineers more tougher than Predators?
A Predator can kill quickly, it would rip off a Androids head but if you struck a blow to its head with a Axe i am sure you would knock it down.
i felt that the people the Engineer and Fifield killed died pretty easy, i understand with Fifield as if there helmets get broken they would succumb to the hostile air...
I guess the Engineers suit does offer some protection and its like armor, thus if the Merc had got him with a head shot it would be bye bye Engineer.

Overall, I'd put my money on a healthy Predator over an Engineer in a scrap. Might be close, but Preds are simply more of a martial culture, skilled killers who use xeno/aliens to hone their combative skills (AVP 1). Engineers, though tough, have other prerogatives such as pan-spermia and perfecting life...and culling retrogrades such as ourselves.
June 17, 2012
Retrogrades. Yeah.
Can you imagine the (unlikely) revelation that our intended next stage of evolution had been Yautja?
I want my mandibles and wristblade, dammit!!!!
