Is it getting a bit much? It's pushing a lot of other new and interesting posts beneath the fold (i.e. all of them) out the way a lot quicker.
I know it's meant to be a remedy for the lack of newest post bumping, but it has it's cons also.

I've never been on a forum where so much gets buried. I can't put my finger o whether it's a problem with the forum or just the fact that we have so many members starting so many threads. It's really hard to organize all the topics here and condense them into certain threads. Or to find a thread on what you want to talk about which already exists as there's so many ways to describe stuff.
I don't know. I love the forum and I know BH and the staff are doing their best. We as members need to work hard to post in threads that are already discussing what we want to discuss instead of starting new threads.
I'm reviewing the current pinned topics and un-pinning the ones which don't "need" to be pinned anymore.
Ultimately we have a lot of new topics daily and some will get buried. The recent post feed on the community page helps keep the popular ones afloat.
The sticky topics are to prevent duplicate threads and promote the original threads for most theories for discussion.

This needs to be done every day.
Pin all day, then unpin. Unless mean that pinned topic is more frequented/replied to than non-pinned topics.
