You know humans on this mission failed. They couldnt read hiergliphics, trigger holograms, open shut doors and operate ALIEN space craft...Without David...the movie stops at the first doorway and after that everyone goes home with a few artifacts and a great story to tell...

i agree about literacy (even though i can barely spell in any given language...) but i think its possible that without David they MIGHT have figured some of this out ... but it would have taken a lot more effort and made the movie way longer in a way that wouldnt have been that interesting lol... then again it would have lead to a lot more study of Mr Anils reconstructed engineer PIE which would have been cool.
