MILLBURN . . .

I’ve tried searching on this but not found anything; although that doesn’t mean some folks have not already asked this question, or know the answer. What happened to Millburn’s body? The crew returns to the temple and find Millburn dead. The hammerpede leaps out of his throat. Cut to the scene concentrating on rushing Holloway to the ship for medical attention. What we know about the Alien cycle is that a host is needed for ‘seeding’. In this case the hammerpede paralyses Millburn, puts him in a coma or kills him outright. I presume there is a plot-related reason for this, for Millburn not receiving the same 'treatment' as Fifield. Did Milburn’s carcass spawn another xenomorph that was cut from the film? If not, is this something we might see in a sequel? Or was this loose-end dealt with, and I simply missed it?

I always thought after Fifeld cuts the Hammerpede's "head" off it meant the wee beastie was covered by or oozing some acid from somewhere and once inside Millburn it just slowly cooked him and would therefore be a damaged vessel for any gestating young. It's helped my little mind as an explanation!

they left it there... like a lot things in this movie they just don't give a crap about anything except the Engineers. When Halloway became ill, they rushed to get him back to the ship and left both bodies.... Millburn turned into a snack for the hammerpede. Fifield began to evolve into a xeno... I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

Punx, Fifield did cut the hammerpede's head off and it grew a new back in seconds and sprayed Acid blood all over his helmet in the process...

right.. the head grew back, very wormy like... but in that brief moment enough acid was shared for Fifield to get a new face : ) lol... as for Milburn's body... was wondering if they even planned on going back for it, maybe they did eventually, we just didn't get to see it

I assumed that when Fifeild cut the Hammerpeded and it sprayed acid and then grew a new head that we wouldn't see that blood just doesn't just spray from the point of origin it dribbles, bleeds and runs. I've seen major injuries and any "ejection" of blood is the initial trauma and is accompanied and followed by flow of liquid. The Hammerpede would be immune to the negative effects of its vital fluids and as the blood appears transparent we would only see the affects. The point is this theory works for me as there is not enough blood to melt through Millburn's helmet and he is still (or at least his body) pretty much intact just a bit cooked!

Yeah, definitely would have been great to see an evolutionary stage of the Hammerpede. Maybe something monstrous, never seen before. But, what done is done :P

although...the creature had a mouth like a vagina as the facehugger....then perhaps this creature would have looked very familiar after all.
