Just when was it?

Forgive me if this has been brought up before. In the beginning of the movie we see a planet that appears and we assume its earth in its primordial stage. This cannot be correct because we can easily identify continents which must place it post dinosaur. It surely can’t be pre dinosaur because as you know all the continents were in one big land mass and floated around to give us the planet we have today. So when was this Sacrifice as far as the ages of the earth go?
