Indy JohnDecember 28, 2012THis is an ongoing question in the land of Prometheus.
As crazy as Shaw's comment about the pictographs being an invitation, Weyland's belief that she must be right does seem to be farfetched,
Even if Shaw was right about the 'invitations were they an invitation to what? A human slaughter? Enslavement? Scientific Experiments.
In any case there was nothing for our benefit impied in this 'invitation' but everyhing for the good for the Engineers.
If the Weyland had advanced knowledge of the Engineers it would be more motivation to finace the trip using Shaw's beliefs as justification.
Even Weyland must have understood that the Engineers were not gods in the Creator sense. But perhaps it was another step in the right direction before he died.
