Upon leaving the cinema I sat in my car and had a quiet smoke Some other movie-goers came to the car beside mine And began to chat about Prometheus One guy was quite beside himself Saying “where were the aliens!” Or did he say “where were the Aliens!” I was trying to memorize the new things I had noticed From my second viewing of the film But his remark suddenly stunned me The only Alien he saw was the Deacon at the end He did not see the Engineers (very old, old, recent) as aliens Why on earth not – because they are similar to us? Perhaps the previous Alien films created an Alien image In humans susceptible to take on board simple archetypes So much so that the imagination of those humans has been closed down Ask an Engineer if we are aliens If they helped create us – surely we are! Maybe if we helped create the Engineers (DNA?) Surely they are aliens It seems the mind set of some humans see aliens as Aliens This is surely a very childish (possibly worse) way of thinking God help us all

The worms that mutated into Cobra-Aliens are aliens, Alien life forms, the single Bio Engineer, the Squid-Hugger and the Deacon as well as us upon this alien world, they are all the aliens!

[1]"where were the aliens" he clearly means where were the A L I E N (S), e.g. as in "i like to eat you with my little mouth too" ; as opposed to 'alien'(s)' (little green men etc) as seen in just about any other sci-fi film . Perhaps you could say the engineer/humans relationship is more like parent/child or farmer/cattle; we wouldn't think of monkeys or homo-erectus or sheep as Aliens. Also you might have expected to see a more 'alien' space-jockey, and when it turned out to be a giant-human-in-a-suit it was much less so. [2] of course it was clearly stated this film is a prequel or tangent to Alien, and they did say, it wouldn't feature our favourite double-jawed creature.. so it shouldn't have been expected; as ridley scott correctly says , that creature has been fully explored already, there was no need.

Or, perhaps he simply meant, "where were the xenomorphs", specifically - and was not, by that question, declaring the fact that he had failed to recognise that gigantic, bald, blue men with goggle eyes, are not the same thing as human beings. "God help us all", indeed.

@ hypernova @centauarian I agree with both of you I am trying to get deeper into peoples heads/ideas this guy clearly doesn't see the other aliens only as you say ALIENS this movie is posing massive questions but the guy just wants more ALIENS whether or not he saw Scotts clear statement re no more ALIENS When I engage with SciFi I am totally open to anything the stranger and original the better He and many others do not seem to have this hunger maybe this is why the film has so many haters If and when we do venture out into the universe I am sure we will find amazing/scary/dangerous/intriguing things but the human race as it stands at the moment is not at all ready

What was the green slime that David scraped off the cave wall? Was it a secretion of some ancient alien that was left behind at the time those ghost engineers were alive.

I know a song called "fell in love with an Alien" by Kelly Family I guess this is what they were talking about:
