Ok, I'm kind of jumping the gun on this but as I need a little feedback from you guys before I decide how far to go I needed to go ahead and post this. While I'm sure all of this information will not be free I'm trying to work something out to get the info. If you will, please let me know if you guys would really be interested in seeing a breakdown of this sort. Please let me know HOW interested you would be. If everyone would really like to see something of this nature I will be willing to do more to get the info obviously. Now, onto what this is all about... I know pretty much everyone here is interested in the finances of Prometheus, how much it will gross and net, and the possibility of a sequel. I've recently contacted a website that some of you may have heard of called the-numbers.com. Here is a quote from their site which will give you an idea of what they do and the information I'm trying to obtain... "Research Services In addition to providing information for free, Nash Information Services, LLC provides research services to hundreds of industry professionals, investors and entertainment companies each year. Since 1997, we have been constantly developing our Movie Industry Model, a sophisticated tool for analyzing the past and future performance of movies, including ancillary revenue through DVD and Blu-ray sales and rentals, TV sales, and foreign revenues. Using our model, we can provide revenue estimates for past movies, predictions of opening weekends and total grosses for current and future releases, and many other financial projections that can be critical in creating a business plan for an independent movie, or planning an investment. Our research services are used by independent producers, investment banks and analysts, technology companies, retailers, web sites and the major studios. One of our most popular services is our Movie Sales Projection. The projection is based on research from our database for movies that are similar to a given project based either on a list provided by our client, or by doing a search based on multiple criteria, including budget, genre and production method. Based on this information, we provide a projection for the profit or loss that will be made by the movie, based on our distribution model for studio distribution, or by working with our client to identify an alternative distribution strategy appropriate for the particular project. The Movie Sales Projection breaks down revenue into US and international theatrical and home market income, TV rights sales and other ancillary revenue. " So, if you guys would really be interested in seeing something like this please post and let me know. Any other thoughts in regards to the budget/finances and possibility of a sequel are welcome as well.

@Engineering, are you going to have to pay for this out of your own pocket?

Prometheus has done over $124 Million already at the box office. If you're worried about a sequel, you can sit back and relax. It's going to happen. And don't ever spend your money on some stupid predictive analysis like this. It's just a forecast, based upon box office numbers and other comparative "sci-fi" movie characteristics that you could basically build out in an Excel Spreadsheet. Come on people............. Here's a link to the revenue figures: Domestic Total as of Jul. 15, 2012: $124,307,416 http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=prometheus.htm

@Space Screamer...No, I'm not going to spend any money on it. I have an idea and think it will work out. @PickleGuy...I know how much Prometheus has made domestically. I know how much the foreign market has made. I'm not going to spend any money but who does spend money on these services are major movie studios, independent filmakers, investors and many others. If it's such an easy process for you then maybe you should try doing it and making a living at it. Heck, why don't you draw us a fianancial make up and projection for the rest of the run of Prometheus and the proposed sequels with detailed, accurate information. Quite a few people seem interested. If it's so easy to draw upin an excel spreadsheet then please do and save us the trouble of having to deal with some lesser people than yourself. Come on person...

@Engineering: Why would I want to do this? You sound frustrated. Sorry if my post frustrated you. I was just trying to understand why you wanted to know these revenue figures. Can you explain?

@PickleGuy...So we could get a prediction from a professional source as to if a sequel to Prometheus would make sense financially for Fox. I know that their "prediction" is just that but if the industry uses this sort of info to find out if making a film makes sense financially then I'd like to know what kind of business they think a sequel would make. It's quite obvious why people would want to see something like this. You sounded frustrated in your post with the "come on peope" and other comments and I felt your post was rude and condescending. If you weren't trying tocome across that way then that's fine but that's the way it came across. Also, a sequel is not in the bag at this point by any means. The film has made about $300 million GROSS worldwide. Not all of that goes to Fox. Gross is how much has come into the theatres. It does not factor in marketing or the theatres take at all. So no, we all can't "relax" yet.

Hmm.. Do you thinki Weyland would have had a back up plan or a sister ship to Prometheus? That storyline would allow Fox to have another adverture using some of the same props..revisit the Engineers' moon and eventually catch up with David/Shaw.. But I suspect there would be more of 'Fox Family Friendly elements' to insure a 'PG-rating and set up for the gramd filane ;;leading up to 'Aliens'.. From a marketing standpoint,,maybe Fox should consider releasing a reecut..PG rated 'Prometheus' movie..to gain a wider audience...I don't think I would take my 1 year old Grand son to see it,,,but many viewers might like to share the adventure with a younger member of the family..
