Here he proposes that the Space Jockey from Alien is the one who messed up the situation on LV-223, 2000 yrs before Prometheus, because he was a benevolent Engineer and did not want the goo used on mankind.
I like the theory but how does it explain what Dallas says about it being fossilized?

I ALWAYS thought the original Space Jockey was just some poor schlub that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"...wrong place at the wrong time...."
I also wonder just where his shipmates are??. Piled up in a corner somewhere?

Indeed, and Lambert even asks that same question herself

She says "I wonder what happened to the rest of the crew?".

For me, this analysis (the link, that is...) is ten times more captivating than the film itself. The author of the article; for the most part, addresses the most important question that the film asked: What happened on LV-223 2,000 years ago?
In my opinion, the theory presented in THIS article would have made a splendid screenplay for an actual "Original Story"- to be viewed by any audience- even those not familiar with Alien. It could stand on it's own, but still be in the same universe AND count as a prequel too!!
Eureka!!
...Then, the events shown in "Prometheus" can be shown in an entirely different film production. Everything will then make sense, be entertaining and significantly limit all of the wild speculation that it (by itself) caused.
Even Shaw and David-Head will be apt to focus on finding the answer to a much more direct question. Their discovery at the other end would be either Positive or Negative- instead of being a completely unpredictable mystery; Complete with unlimited possible outcomes and even more questions...
If this article's theory was indeed the script for what would be filmed before Prometheus, perhaps Shaw, David-Head and the audience will also be able to make sense of why the events on LV-223 were never (apparently) investigated less than 2,000 years ago by the civilization on their "Home World".

@Aircraft Fixer,
With you totally. This would have made the basis of a great screenplay.

It makes you wonder if there was other bodies further up one of the 'limbs' of The Derilict. the three from the Nostromo only venture reasonably around the mid decks and lower decks of the ship but never ventured up to the overhanging 'protrusions' that make up the Prongs. It would be facinating to speculate just what exactly is housed up there in those parts of The Derilict. It definately makes you wonder.

I think the lambert statement ' I wonder what happened to the rest of the crew' deserves a thread by itself. Was there stasis pods in alien on the juggernaut ? To punx : nice on picking up on this !!!

I like to think the thing in the Derelict is a separate life form, that the Juggernaut is an adaption of that tech for use by the Engineers, hence the cryo pods, etc. Maybe the SJ is one of their makers? And the idea of going any deeper into any of those vehicles is exceedingly creepy.
