Holes in cryongenic sleep pods

They were not easy to see, but I think they were. And during the hologram playback, it does seem that one of the Space Jockeys looks down at one, and then motions towards the others as if to say "check the others".

Why is the holoengineer falling down befor the door closes on him?

Presumably, for the same reason that Holloway has trouble standing later in the film. He's got some serious black goo infection.

Holloway got the inside of an ampoule in his drink by a cheecky robot. I don't think that happened to the engineers (it could but...)

yeah i don't see it that way guys there are holes in the engineers cryo pods. why run from an infection in fact i don't think you can out run an infection if it spills out into the air, thats presuming were talking about something airborne. to me the holes in the chambers speak volumes its only on screen for a second but its there. theres a still going round but i don't have the link sorry. it was either accidental breakout as if the engineers sacrificed themselves as hosts or they where set up as i do firmly believe now that the engineers in their elephant bio suits where pilots of the other craft that never left. just based on the fact that the bio suit encases the pilot in the chair but the suit its self is not attached to the chair as we do see them all run around in the tunnel. theres also an engineer in the middle of the pack who falls as if he's been attacked which the other engineer who is lagging behind looks back at (or something) and doesn't make it himself. he can clearly get in the door before it comes down on his head. but doesn't really feels like something got to him first. could be wrong. enjoying this post none the less

Lemonhead... the guy who was infected wasn't 'running from' infection. Did you notice that when he stumbled, he looks back? And these guys seem to have seen what this black goo does. A tiny dose hit Holloway, a bit dose turned Fifield into a viscious attacking monster that leaps aorund and shows no concern for its own safety. (where have we seen those before?) Perhaps what the Space Jockey was looking back towards, and what the others were running from, was something further along that process of transformation. You did notice the skull sculpture on the roof of the dome? Human skull face with elongated curved skull. From infection, transformation, to chest bursts, we don't have any evidence of facehuggers lying around the place. Especially by the pile of bodies at the door. I wonder were those bodies more spread out and then moved later, simply to clear an obstruction in the tunnel. I'm not convinced that the decapitated engineer was about to suffer from a chestburst, like the ones in stasis. From what we've observed, the host only gets very agitated just before it breaks out, and so, it would have broken out after his head came off, and there's no sign of that. Presumably if it can't get through the front of the ribs (If the host is lying chest down on rock) there's no reasons it can't come out the side of the ribcage. We're still kept in the dark as to how this all got out of hand, but the number of space jockeys piled up with their suits on can't all be pilots. There are 5 domes, and it doesn't look like there's room to park that many ships (if you notice on approach, the straight lines that Holloway gets excited about, there are also circles marking the hangar doors)

HI HADLEYS hope thanks for that. just to be clear though I'm not saying there was an air borne anything but others are and I'm just saying why i don't believe its an airborne out break. secondly friend i don't know if were getting wires crossed. but there are 2 engineers who fall. .. one falls when we first see the holographic engineers he's roughly in the middle back of the pack and seems to hit the ground with force. and doesn't get back up. then the other engineer looks back at either this or something else. then he stumbles. gets to the main door and instead of running in he seems to fall to his knees and spread his arms before falling forward and is then decapitated. the pile up engineers ill have to take your word for just now until i see a second viewing but i didn't see any regular looking engineers at this door just the suited up ones. but ill have a closer look as some had holes int he heads too i believe. and for the domes and the amount of ships I'm just going by what david says that theres lots of them that could mean 5 or 15 or 150 its just my own thoughts but until i see a space jockey putting on the elephantine bio suit anywhere other than the pilots chair i think this argument is too strong as i don't believe for a second that those domes are the only domes on lv223. but thanks great read

I also don't think it's airborne. One reason is that David gives a straight answer about it . He only seems to give straight answers when telling the truth, and misleading vague answers when lying. And more people would have been infected already had it been airborne. Re: two engineers falling. I thought it was the same guy, and it was a change in camera angle, but I'll have to watch it again. Makes sense that if he fell, nobody would help him up, and simply passed him out, leaving him last in line. These guys seem devoid of solidarity for each other, and don't even remove their dead for burial. (the guys in the holograms on the bridge inspect the stasis beds, note 3 dead one alive, then go ahead and plot their mission and leave - presumably to die off screen or leave the planet it's not clear, but they didn't remove any bodies. That also got me thinking about their nature and why one lot of bodies is piled up, (which seems an odd way for them to die, if having chest convulsions) and another single corpse left by the door. I thought, perhaps they can walk around one body, but a dozen is an obstruction. I think the resemblance of the dome to a termite hive is what got me thinking along those lines. Ants are careful to take the dead any put them in a pile elsewhere, but termites less so, and of course, there may simply have been nobody left to get the headless guy out of the way.

David definitely finds goo on the control panel. What was that all about? And I know the skull was there from a previous Giger design but I think it was intentionally left for Prometheus to perhaps signify that that dome was where xenos were being forged.

Brilliant hive grown thanks i wasnt quite sure where to find it as i only joined the site yesterday. but thats the pic i seen even though id noticed it in the film. the one over to the right also looks like it has a hole in it too. and is how ive felt about the events that took place. thanks.
