So I have already posted a review saying how much I like Prometheus but as nothing is perfect there are a few things that I think weren't all that good. Some of the macho language like at the end ('HANDS UPPPPPPPP') was a bit out of place I think. We din't really care for the characters when they used clumsy language like this. The pacing of the movie was a bit off too probably as a result of the half hour or so cut footage rather than it being a filmmaking error. The whole David-watching-Shaw's-dreams was a bit clunky. He could have found out how her parents died by simply taking a cursory look at the crew's personnel files during his time awake while the rest slept. In my heart of hearts I would have preferred a direct prequel to Alien, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow after all. But overall I still think its an excellent movie.

@joeymaniac: Frankly, the "hands up/off" moment was one of my biggest problems with prometheus. Someone on here clarified that "hands off (or up or whatever)" is a naval/nautical term that has been used for centuries etc. Basically, janek was saying: lets all take our hands off of the "steering wheel" so as not to accidentally deviate from the set course. makes sense to me. Certainly made the scene a bit more enjoyable for me when i saw the film subsequent times.

"We din't really care for the characters when they used clumsy language like this." Who's "we"??? how about: "Get away from her, you bitch!" ??? More of your taste?

"Who's "we"??? how about: "Get away from her, you bitch!" ??? More of your taste?" Well duh, who do you think "we" is? This review of Prometheus focus on the negative parts of the movie, so the poster is probably referring to the Prometheus-dislikers. And yes, "Get away from her, you bitch" is definitely more my taste - especially when the line is delivered by a believable character in a well-crafted sci-fi movie.
