If there is an Engineer/Xeno Homeworld in possible sequels, what do you think it will look like? And what creatures do you think will inhabit this Homeworld? Will it just be the Engineers? Will it be a mixture of both Xeno and Engineer, perhaps the Xenos residing on one side of the planet and the Engineers on the other (I don't think this would be likely, but who knows)? For Prometheus, Ridely Scott said that the creatures would be completely different from what we had known in the previous films; do you think it will be this way for the sequels if ever we do end up seeing the Homeworld? I wouldn't mind seeing something different (just like in Prometheus), but I would also like something familiar, something perhaps more akin to the Xenos as we know them. In certain books and comics, they don't mention a homeworld for the Engineers per say; they mainly talk about different outposts put in place by the Engineers, all over the galaxy. The Xeno Homeworld however is explored more, and we have a glimpse of more "ancient" Xeno creatures...different, yet similar to what we know. Here are some pics below. So any thoughts on what you think will be on the Homeworld (design, creatures, etc...) ? A pic of the Ancient/First prehistoric-looking Alien Queen Mother (from Dark Horse) If you take a close look at the bottom-centre section of this comic strip, we see the Alien Queen Mother towering over a huge orb/bulb, connected to smaller orbs around, containing some full-grown aliens, some eggs, etc....the reproductive system of this Ancient One is very different from what we know of the more "traditional" Xeno queens. I think the possibilities for the Homeworld and the next-to-be-seen Xenos/creatures are quite vast! I'm looking forward to see what kind of design/concepts they choose.

I picture the engineer home world being rocky and overcast. You don't get as white as an Englishman hanging out in the sun. And I'm sure the xeno home world would be pretty harsh, dark and foreboding.

Perhaps the engineer home world was done in by their messing around with genetics. This might explain why they never looked into what happened on LV-223 in the last 2,000 years. But what if Shaw was wrong again...? What if the last engineer wasn't going to attack the Earth? What will Shaw and David head find if this is so? Why didn't the homeworld people look into the disaster on LV-223 2,000 years ago?? Sheesh with the questions!?!?

First P R O M E T H E U S needs a reason-for-being. And, sorry, I'm not convinced by the Space Jesus idea - and yes, Ridley DID consider that. It sorta puts a stain on the whole UNIVERSE, going for that kinda My Father In Space feel. And wouldn't a SPACE JESUS have had some sort of trans-dimensional space-link to PARADISE so he could have been 'spirited away' at any point before, during and after his 'dramatised exeunt'? I just don't 'feel the authenticity'.

maby the planet of the engineers is completely mechanical? Like you see in some of gigers old drawings. There is one painting he made i always loved. It looks like som kind of structure, like a castle or fortress standing in dark water, perhaps a lake or a sea. However, xenos having a planet of their own sounds far fetched. Lets assume that Aliens is cannon(james cameron) then it would be completely devastating if the xenos had a world of its own, nothing else could live there due to their violent nature. I always assumed they were so malevolent becuase they didnt relly belong in the world, becuase they are not a naturally evolved spiecies. They were created to be a weapon maby?

I respect Mr. Ridley Scott, but I desire to see any other director in the sequel. I think Scott was very well to give the initial foot point as he did in Alien, but a sequel is necessary to see things more varied. This thread raises some nice questions that lead to think. And I wonder todabia Engineers in the world is paradise? maybe is full of monsters.

At one time if the engineers are the true top of the ladder species on their home world I'm sure it was PARADISE. If you had the benefit of millions of years of advanced science coupled with the raw materials to sculpt your environment into a representation of your ideal why wouldn't it be? The idea that someone gets bored and unleashes a bioweapon on a society that technologically advanced is a yawn fest. Take for example DUNE, the home planet of the Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV. Kaitain was a paradise, it was covered with vast cities and parklands, it's climate was controlled by satellites, they possessed the ability to genetically engineer "chair dogs", "sligs" and other organisms tailored for both aesthetic value and occassionally lethality. All of this in only a fraction of the time the Engineers existed. Better to believe that their society began to fission into different camps based on their expansion coupled with an ability to take into themselves through tinkering with their own genetics aspects of species they encountered. In EVE online the Jovians are very much like the engineers, they gave technology to the Amarr enabling them to briefly dominate the other three races in their universe. However all of this tinkering caught up with them creating a plague that enfeebled and eventually began to wipe out their race to the point that their worlds were empty. I know it is a work of fiction but for those of you with the imagination to envision such a society it seems a shame to limit yourself to populating it with something you've already seen because you aren't taking into account the possibilites of millions of years of continuous evolution

Yes and with the advent of the Avatar idea we Humans in the near-future have over-reached our capacity, over-built upon ourselves and over-stepped the mark with regards to eviromental morals, technological morals and 'expansionist' morals. We have built upon the foundations of the old until there is no more room left and no-where else left to go but up and perhaps even further down into the crust of the Earth itself for self-sustaining pockets of living. Earth has in many ways become like Courascant in The Star Wars Prequels, one layer of 'concrete jungle' built upon another, much in the same way as the Blade Runner city-scape universe. So is it any stretch of the imagination to expect that something similar may have happened to the Engineers home world and perhaps adjacent system worlds within their own solar system. There is irony here if you placed the name-sake or title: Paradise superimposed over Blade Runner city-scape of Los Angeles/San-Angeles/Hades or the future city-scapes of over populated Earth cities in the Avatar universe there would be such and obvious parallel in that use of terminology. The thought of a race that may have been in existence for perhaps over a million-or-so years and it too may have had a similar expansionist fate befall it as the Human one is often portrayed as a futre warning of our behavior would be the irony of ironies. So the term: Paradise would very much so have dark, forboding implications ladeled to it and concequences of what a civilization can do if it allows itself to reach too far for what it truely desires to achieve.
