Wow!...not bad...it certainly did not break any records but i believe it has topped all other movies in the Alien franchise...even after being adjusted for inflation .....and if it has'nt yet....then it will after it's release in Japan and a few other territories not yet included!....I have heard rumors that the marketing cost was around 50 million....so 321 million (..so far!)....is not bad for a movie that cost 180 million....(marketing included).. .. So what do you guys think of that!!

That's a lot of money. Anything to do with Ancient Astronauts will always do good. staff: Weyland Corp. Ancient Astronauts and Recruiting Department, Venice Ca.

Well, this definitely benefits the magnates of the office and of course the sequel.

I've seen official reports that say the market expectation is at roughly $360 million for worldwide box-office during the official run through September and October. That's in the zone of $350~400 million that I guessed originally, so I'm pleased about that. I've also discovered in the last few days a few friends who saw it and liked it and want to see it again. It was surprising to me that these particular friends were that into it, so I find that encouraging somehow. Depending on what they do with physical media, it may be respectably lucrative for FOX. Fingers crossed.

I think it has been also lucrative for 3D-glasses manufacutrers of the far east and some other sectors of 'shadow economies'. I saw this movie once and got it at the first time... no need to watch it twice; I'm from Germany and here it's only available in 3D; I even got it one euro cheaper because I was in the english version. I wonder how Fox Studios' surveys can be based on such assumtions as that it's more attracive to foreign countries in thei own language.

Its actually scarely bad considering what it was and todays hyper inflated markets - by the way alien allowing for inflation cost around 30 million dollars and made over 630 million :S ....but maybe more is to come...
