I think he is fine writer (but too many unanswered questions... like Lost). All of the Alien films suffer from writer issues, so Prometheus is no different.

I reeaally don't think the guy deserves so much hate, bro. He was hired to do a job, and Ridley approved it. It's Ridley's film. I prefer Lindelof's writing to James Cameron's. All James Cameron did was rehash everything from the first Alien with a bunch of annoying, poorly disciplined marine characters: "Game over, man!! Game OVER!!!"
But I will give Cameron SOME credit: I do like Rambo II. ;)

@Patient Leech... no hate, just Pie filling and in good fun. All the writers of the Alien series have had a rough time with this subject.
Aliens was a tour-De-force of Alien mayhem... LOL

ive said it numerous times and i still feel this way...Thank you damon lindelof for delivering us from "alien zero" (no disrespect to spaihts intended)! Lindelof took something pedestrian (the traditional eggs, xenos, facehugger romp) and turned it into something, though maybe a bit flawed, extremely compelling! sincerely, thank you lindelof!

He is a writer from another world, so maybe he deserves a smack in the face of another world too

the guy is a useless hack that should never have been hired for this, and Ridley fucked it royally by allowing this douche near it. Sorry, but I have no time for him or his way of *non* story telling. Ambiguity has its place, but not where people have waited a hell of a long time for answers about one of their favorite movies.
Black "shit" of any kind is his only plot device. And look how well that went down in Lost. Did he learn from that? No.
And having the Alien be part human was just pathetic. Sloppy, lazy, and un-inspired. The guy is an oxygen thief.

Damage is done. Story is so crappy that I enjoyed Battleship and many other low grade movies more than prometheus. If he touches any other franchise, consider that fan cult to be dropping soon.
