Okay, Jchmtz, I take that back, and I apologize. I see, that you have uploaded the missing scenes. Even if you have done this thing, I will still purchase the BlueRay, maybe even two, one for viewing and the other for display.
Now, having stated this, viewing these deleted scenes adds depth and sheds more, pun intended, light onto the subject, and, though I reluctantly thank you, I also will chide you for your mistaken rebuke of the Engineer, which is nonsensical.
Those scenes are very chilling, indeed. Effective. I want the sequel to happen, more so now.

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 8:36 PMWow, gotta watch it too! With plenty of tissues handy. Is that ALL deleted scenes we'll ever get to see, are the extended scenes separate files? And will there be more altogether on the BluRay/DVD later on? Anyone?

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 8:32 PM I've just seen the entire deleted scenes. I AM TOTALLY STUNNED, IT IS AMAZING. My eyes are threatening to well up with tears. Sir Ridley Scott, thank you.
Thank you.

Funny thing is the Engineer's voice sounds a bit robotic like Davids when his head is off. I wish we could see them speak in the beginning to see if indeed the suits have made them a bit biomechanic in nature. He seems to be tossing her around like a cat by it's scruff, he could have killed her very fast but he just seems to be examining her. The scene with Vickers is awesome, shows she is human and has remorse for killing Holloway. I also love how Shaw takes a swig of Vodka, I would too in that situation...
Amazing scenes, I am really peeved they didn't leave this in the theatrical release. Looks like a Blade Runner situation, studios forced cuts. Expect these scenes to be added back to the movie in a few years. People forget Blade Runner was a totally different movie 20 years ago.
*(Another mistake is you can see the cable pulling Noomi up in the Engineer scene! LOL!)

While I like some of the deleted stuff, I can kind of see why Ridley cut it... and Engineering made a very good point in another thread about the Engineer needing to maintain some mystery rather than speaking and being overexposed, etc. And I saw an interview with Ridley where he explained why he cut the final Engineer/Shaw fight and it's because the Engineer being taken down by a mere ax seemed to diminish his aura, his powers. After being shown to be such a powerful badass in his cockpit (knocking people clear across the room) he gets taken down by a mere woman with an ax?? Yeah, that wouldn't really make much sense. I liked the part with Shaw swigging the vodka and giving herself the injection though, and some shots of Shaw running/hiding from the Engineer would have helped add some tension, so I wish they had incorporated some of that. But otherwise, I agree with many of the editing decisions. I also think leaving it a bit more open-ended as far as why Weyland thinks he's worthy of eternal life was a better move than simply because he "created" a robot in his image.. that went a bit silly. Leaving it open makes you wonder lots of things: is he afraid of dying? is he just enjoying his wealth and power so much that he doesn't want it to end? does he fancy himself a god worthy of eternal life? There's not one definitive answer when it's left open. Could be a combination of all of said explanations...
Goddamn, I can't wait for the sequel...

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 9:54 PM Is it just me.. or did they really cut out scenes or aspects of scenes that would have really made the movie?
My biggest complaint was that the movie seemed rushed. You dont really get to know the characters very well and various other aspects left me wanting.
I think that if they had left the deleted stuff in place, it would have been a much more enjoyable movie...for me anyway. :)
I hope they show us deleted Fifield stuff soon!
ALL generalizations are WRONG!

AdminPraetorianSep-18-2012 10:04 PM@Fan; No you are not the only one, my issue with the movie was the rushed scenes as well. This would have made it almost perfect for me. :/

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 10:14 PMI am completely in agreeance FAN, for sure.
A little extra time, no rushing, would have allowed for these great scenes to "make it" to the film, giving us a more complete piece of art.
Perhaps too, with the fleshing out of the characters that I've seen unfold, which has been wonderful to see!!!!, would have saved some face for Lindelof? Maybe?
I am hoping at this point that they put this film together the way it should have been, so that I can fully enjoy it.

Yep, it's just you.
I know it seems like the extra scenes would add a whole lot, but I've come to the conclusion that they really wouldn't have made the movie any better. In fact, some of them would have made it worse. The way the Engineer bursts into the escape pod rather than just wandering in before the fight with Shaw is much more menacing and intense. Sure, I would have liked to hear the Engineer speak and see Shaw sip the vodka and inject herself, but it really doesn't add anything to the film. The film is more streamlined and concise and just a touch more... ambiguous. I think the subject matter demands that mystery.
Of course the video has been taken down now... at least some of us got to see it. :)

Whether is was "just me" or not has yet to be seen. :)
The scene with the engineer finding shaw in the escape pod was really awesome in my opinion and really added the pause needed before his demise by cuddles. The scenes showing her in great pain, both when they wake the engineer and when she dopes herself up in the escape pod, really gives life and believability to shaws actions after the surgery.
@pulserifle187 Thought you were just tryin to make your questions REALLY clear lol. :)...What did the engineer say? He said, "GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE." in a real deep satanicish voice.

MemberOvomorphSep-19-2012 9:07 AMand it's GONE,
once again we've unveiled the LACK OF CLOSURE in these Deleted Scenes, for those who thought they'd contain 'answers'. That, for me, is the major reason Fox keep deleting this stuff (you know, other than the obviously blatant Copyright breach).
Well, only Sacrificial Intro and Paradise to find next aka GCA or GottaCatchemAll.

MemberOvomorphSep-19-2012 4:20 PMIt seems to me that so far the deleted stuff is about 60% scenes that I wish they had left in, and about 40% stuff that I understand why it was cut. The scenes fleshing out the crew really should have been in the movie, as even stuff like seeing/hearing Ford tremble a bit more while standing in front of the engineer, or Janek's "first time into the deep?" question add a lot to their characters, not to mention bigger stuff like the extra scene with Janek and Vickers, or learning more about Weyland's motivations.
However, I understand why some stuff wasn't in there, even the engineer speaks scene which was extremely interesting to see. The final battle scene didn't impress me at all. It was the only scene so far that I thought was good that it was left out simply because it wasn't done very well.

MemberOvomorphSep-19-2012 4:26 PMPS: I really like the theatrical cut a lot as-is, but I think it could have gone a long way in helping people, especially others who weren't so keen on the film (like some people who are on here constantly trashing it), enjoy it even more.
