MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 1:38 PMJust watching the deleted scenes...
OK, watching the deleted scenes in reverse!
Will keep these as spoilers ...SO DO NOT READ ON IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE FOOTAGE WITHOUT A HEADS UP...
The extended waking of the engineer scene:
David revelation about the engineers obviously leaving to go to earth prior to the infection comes first... Shaw asks about the cargo and why they were bringing it to us...it's clear that they want to kill us.
The waking of the engineer is very revealing - and Weylands arrogance (and comments appears to be part of the undoing of them all. Although the engineer doesn't wait for a translation he appears to comprehend Weyland...)
"you see this man? My company built him from nothing. I made him, and I made him in my own image so that he would be perfect, so that he would never fail. Pointing at him he says "I DESERVE THIS...Because you and I, we are superior. We are creators. We are Gods. And Gods NEVER die"
Whoops. He examines the creation as David smiles for a second...you know the rest!

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 1:56 PMMVMNT - does this mean you've downloaded a Newsgroup release? If so, have you seen the extras yet?
Not really sure why/what you mean by 'congratulations' followed by an incorrect statement???

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 2:10 PMLooks like they're all available to watch now anyway -

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 2:13 PMI would like to see some dialogues on the Engineers at the beginning.
Some light on that scene would be nice. Also would close some threads here and there, but then I would be happy to be sure of what we saw, and when those actions have taken place (a billion, or some millions of years ago?)

Thanks for posting !!!
May I ask : will you be posting more on some of the other deleted scenes ??
Also: is there any additional footage when David enters the cargo hold the first time and he points his flashlight down at the ground as if he is seeing something there ? Maybe a broken ampule ?
If you can provide any additional info it would be nice !!!
In fact I would kill to know !!!
LOL !!

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 2:15 PMMVMNT - glad to hear it!
Voidhawk - I don't mind not knowing. At least David translates the waking engineer scene.

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 2:17 PMOdoudo - it appears all the deleted scenes are available if you want to watch them. Perhaps one thread for each deleted scene, or one in total will be good rather than dozens of threads like mine. Of course if anyones interested I'll add more. However... I'm just waiting to watch the rest with my wife, now my kids are in bed!

is an alternative scene I Think.

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 4:13 PMHi, watched them all now - there are scenes that should not have been cut in my opinion: the discussion between Weyland and his daughter is essential for me as was the full scene in waking the engineer. I think the film would be more 'complete' with most of it included. And the fifield deleted since is as above. I can say that some of the CGI is a touch rough (the movement scenes with full body).
I was happy for the scene with the Engineer and Shaws axe fight....enjoyed seeing the engineers interest in the video and chandeliers....

MemberDeaconSep-28-2012 8:21 PMWell i saw them a while back in the 14 minutes footage that was leaked but this never had all the scenes on the Blu-Ray... i just hope my Steel Box has the bonus disc with all the other extras such as "the gods are angry" etc
Some scenes i think was cut because of GOOFS.......
The main one the Last Battle....
You see when Shaw enters the Lifeboat and closes the main door, when she is then filling up the bag with medical items? You can see a big shadow or object at the airlock door window..... how do they explain this and it can be explained as the Engineer because this is well before David tells Shaw he is on his way.
Then we see him latter enter and admire Vickers Quarters, only to then be alerted by Shaw..... the Engineer in this scene all the way through has NO BURN MARKS.... but when Shaw unleashes her Baby on him, we see he is BURNT and on the side facing away from where the Squid grabs him.
This is why maybe they used the other shoot they did where the Engineer enters Burnt and runs straight for Shaw.

MemberDeaconSep-28-2012 8:26 PMI have yet to see the Fifield Scene....
I think if i look hard i could find them.... but i do not wish too, mind you i got a pre-order of the Steel Booking coming on the 9th, but then there still would be the legality of it all, even if in 2 weeks i would own the Blue-Ray well i already paid £20 for it lol....
But yes i think Ridley did say that the CGI seen just never quite looked as good as he hopped and Ridley is not a fan of using much CGI, he prefers practical and then touch up with some CGI Touch Up, like Model photo shoots when they get air brushed.
He also liked the actual Sean Harris Scene and the work he did with that.

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 8:33 PMWell, gives more depth to the character in the sense of showing the alien doing something different, I mean, a bit like a living being.
and on that, given the way their tech and architeture seems to go, the whole human ship would be interesting, even if archaic.
(Well, his ship was able to stand a collion that would have pulverized a destroyer, so their tech is kin to magic for us...that is a good plot fact indeed)

MemberOvomorphSep-28-2012 10:07 PMOK, so i've seen all these scenes WITHOUT aquiring the Blu-ray via downloads etc. there's nothing mentioned here that's not been public domain on Dailymotion for example. So if it's not from a NG source, it's just a lot of hype from shared clips
Tell you what - post images of your Blu-ray copy?
So none of this feels new anyway
Fifield scene - man, folks are going to be disappointed. The CGI is ropey in places, the pacing and "Fullness" of scenes is very sketchy. To me, it's as if they have put in a non-final version as a deleted scene to make it more probable that it needed to be changed. The CGI is very rough in places. You can in a sense see why Ridley went prosthetics instead

MemberOvomorphSep-29-2012 3:55 AMI agree about the burnt face - I wondered why this was the case....
As for posting a copy of the Blu and posting, yes - can I do that - not sure how. I linked earlier to lots of other peoples early delivery of blurays from blu-ray.com. Literally 10's of thousands of people have/will receive copies before release date. Have you pre-ordered?

karlosfunkster
MemberOvomorphSep-29-2012 4:00 AMIt appears that there is nothing new other than commentary. For example the extended opening was cut due to keeping the scene more mysterious....
Fifield scene, yes it seems incomplete. However the static CGI scenes are very good...it just seems incomplete.
