No. Yutani has been part of the Alien Universe since Alien came out in 1979. As the company in Alien was called Weyland-Yutani Industries. Not just Weyland Industries which is from Prometheus. Therefore no AVP/AVPR does not automatically count as canon. AVP has a lot of stuff in it that does not flow well with the actual canon and non-canon Alien films. For example the whole Charles Bishop Weyland and then the random Ms/Mrs. Yutani bull crap at the end of AVPR. It just leads to a lot of odd random stuff that most people try to stay away from or at least not mix into the canon folder.

Sorry guys but Yutani has only been part of the universe since Aliens 1986 so at some point between Prometheus and Aliens there has been a company merger of sorts In Alien it was just refers to as "the company"

Weylan yutani was in Alien 1979 . You can see the name on a computer screen and on a beer can .
