MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 11:45 AM In watching how the Pups are launched and used in the Pyramid mapping,,just how do they move around?
THere seems to be no obvious engines/motors especially in such a small unit.
The easiest explanation in my mind is a magnetic/anti gravity propulsion controlled by the self contained sensors..but it might be too Science Fiction based for this time period.
But still look how easily the Pups move through the corridors storage holds.
This just can't be isolated,,It movement must be based on some means that could have been adapted to moving other objects..even Prometheus size Star Ships..
If the technology can be used for these small onjects then that technolgy must be adaptable to other applications..

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 11:49 AMArtificial gravity is already well utilised in Prometheus and Alien (people can walk around the ship in space). That would be my guess for how the Pups manage to float.

MemberOvomorphOct-23-2012 1:29 PMThe Pups are a curious item. The ability to pretty go pretty much anywhere they are programmed to,,with great ability.. Also I think that was one think in Fifield's life the he took great pride in showing off..
They must have a tremnedous energy supply as they are continous in use throught the mission.. In fact i don't recall them ever being turned off..
Early in the movie on the first Pyramid entry..there is scene where the question is asked.."Which way?.."
Fifield answers ..
"..The Pups say this way.."..But it not clear what is the group's destination..or what the pups are are supposed to lead the group to..

How do the hyperdrive systems work in Star Wars? It's made-up technology; you could just accept that they fly somehow.

In checking out a few of Weyland's products this product description shows that anti-gravity was a company concern. So it's use with pups are is a given. Even it's use on the prometheus clears some questions as to how grwavity was created for the crew to function.
Just a curiosity not a critical plot element.
