MemberOvomorphDec-20-2012 1:46 PMOne year ago, these days exactly, most of us were impatiently waiting for the first teaser trailer. Do you remember the 3 count-down teasers leading up to the trailer released on 22 Dec?
The time of the year is the same, and looking at them now, I feel a bit nostalgic about the excitement I felt back then.
And then the trailer came out, and I was totally blown away! The croissant, the space jockey seat, the mysterious blue guy!
Good memories! And to me, at least, it doesn't matter how the film was in the end, but the trip leading to it was the biggest part of it, and possibly much of my love for Prometheus comes from all that came before, and this forum played a major role (even though I was still a lurker back then).
One year ago...
What about you?
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphDec-20-2012 1:58 PMWell, I for one live under a rock. Would you believe it, the first time I heard of Prometheus was about two months before it was in cinemas. One of my friends enthusiastically showed me the TED talk by Weyland.
And then we saw the film.
Well, I loved it, and I knew then that I'd have to see it again and again in theaters.
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.

AdminPraetorianDec-20-2012 1:53 PM I remember starting to hear about Prometheus and looking online from time to time for information. I would check on this forum but I didn't join for a long time.

MemberPraetorianDec-20-2012 4:52 PMJust knowing Ridley was returning to Sci-fi gave me goose bumps. The first glimpses of the finished film in those trailers was so exciting!
I was a 'lurker' too, until I couldn't resist just reading the threads & plucked up the courage to join & add some comments. So glad I finally did!

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 2:50 AMThe first time I had heard of this movie being made and its summer release of 2012 was back in 2011 and I was surfing the internet about the SJ's. I was at the time up until now interested and I made many Space Jockey drawings and how and what he would look like. I heard actually a true rumor back 2011during the Winter I think while on the Internet looking up the SJ's.
So basically I was and have been into these particular aliens of a such an advanced race with a really cool look to them. But the rumors said the characters were not in Isle of Skye, Scotland but in southern Africa somewhere.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 9:13 AMI didn't know anything about Prometheus til there were some trailers on TV in June of 2012.
So I guess my 'One Year Ago" begins in 6 months.

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 1:59 PMI'm like Indy John, didn't know about it till 6 months or less or else I would have gone crazy in anticipation. Finely it opened in 3D and I was so excited I just went myself without even thinking to invite any one cause I didn't want to deal with anybody talking to me during the show or being late. I was swept up in this surreal virtual reality and forgot I was even in a theatre! Truely a remarkable experience.

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 2:36 PMIt has been a long time since I have seen any movie in 3D, I suspect if I ever see the 3D/IMAX version it will seem like a different movie altogether,
That would be a great intro to the next story a limited release in IMAX/3D of Prometheus just before the premiere of P2.
I would go to see both movies.
