MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 7:27 AM I wonder if David's answer about humans being more comfortable interacting with their own kind is actually more of David's feeling about humans.
If robots could who or what would David be more comforable working with?
Perhaps the answer is nobody.
To me it was not so much what David said in response to Holloway's question but how he said the words, almost like a sneer.
This antagonism between David and Holloway is shown from the beginning of the movie. It raises a question if there was some incident on Earth before the launching of the mission that involved Holloway/David? Could Weyland's programming be responsible?
David should be a helpful and dutiful tool for Holloway and others to use.
From the get-go we see just the opposite like two fighters sparring with each other.

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 7:32 AMI feel that David is wiser and more cunning then the audience or the characters in the film give him credit for. So maybe his comment about humans interacting with their own kind is a sly dig at Holloway but also his skepticism about how well events will go if they can communicate with their creators.

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 7:56 AMBased on how things went in talking with the Last Engineer, c ommunicating with the Creators/Gods can only lead to utter destruction of our known world! No Surviviors.
Back to reality so to speak .. just who would be the best charactor to communicate with the Gods? To represent humankind?
For now Shaw seems to the best choice in my mind. David , i suspect , thinks otherwise.

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 8:43 AMWell David is not human is he. Hes a robot so it would be slightly illogical or maybe its ironic that humans are using their creation to communicate with their own creators considering hes the only one that can actually speak the sumarian engineer language anyway.

MemberChestbursterJan-17-2013 9:24 AMfor indy's question regarding who would be better to talk to our creators, david doesn't care. i can't tell you what he really wants or plans to do, but it seems like david has no care for what the engineers are, what they do(did and will do.) i think he is playing shaw big time. it is almost like weyland had him made to have god complex because he is really confident in himself

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 10:00 AMWeyland programming David to think he is a God. What little i know about robots they are dependent on programming to function in a survivial basis.
But if David is evolving with the God Programming' suggested by cuponator3000 then that would indeed affect what we percieve David see, do and and to some extent plan.
What are David's limitations since we know he is not god but he does?
If any part of what you suggest is true then Shaw, a mere mortal is in for a bumpy ride in the next installment of our story.
I am glad that episode is not called 'Trust'

MemberFacehuggerJan-17-2013 2:13 PMIn answer to the question, who would David be more comfortable interacting with, It would have to be someone like Lawrence of Arabia ( or is it Peter O’Toole). I think it is unusual for an android to have a human role model. Also in the film Lawrence of Arabia, Lawrence develops a blood lust in battle, could that be hidden somewhere in Davids’ aspirations

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 2:59 PM Yes a 'David Gone Blood Lust Wild' would be a great set of scenes in any future movie.
In assume after he gets his head and body together.
