MAN OF STEEL just used my UGM idea, well the idea that 'I thought' would really have been a better way to go with the whole Prometheus reboot.
The grey-chrome visual interface, the grey-chrome defense machines, the grey-chrome biochemistry.
There was no 'talking to it in PIE', there was no 'appealing to its ego', it was just a GREY MACHINE WORLD BULIDER at the genetic level. That's what was so 'scary' about Alien, is this 'metal' thing with 'acid' for blood that you 'just couldn't stop'.
And that could POTENTIALLY build a (spherical) world, Planet UGM.
MAN OF STEEL also did a cracking-er job of the proper HYPERSPACE effect that should have originated from the globe-hologram interface i.e. SpaceJockey Chair - not that horrible 'rocket take-off' scene at the end of Pro~
Big Dave,
I've consistently contented (to much consternation in these parts) that the Prometheus Juggernaut and the Alien Derelict are NOT THE SAME.
One, there's the size difference i.e. the Ganesha Alien Trucker is twenty-four feet tall, or would be if he wasn't BORN within his hyperspace chair. I suspected (all along) that Ganesha Driver was some sort of UGM-bio-hermit crab thing, genetically welded into his seat.
Two, there's the 'it looks like the Alien device but is smoother, less organic, more corporate' aspect. Like the Engineers did a BACK-ENGINEERING jobbie on the Derelict THEY found at some point during their history across the univers in 'teardrop' ships, and also the Giger-extruded environs of Pro~look 'more mass-manufactured' rather than UGM-'grown' environs of Alien.
Plus, this is all academic because Prometheus (looks like it) is an Alien franchise reboot.
