Ridley scott and his future

Has this been talked about yet? I quote : "Rumours have been floating around that Scott, distraught by his brother Tony’s suicide last year and disappointed at the critics’ reception of Prometheus, was planning to retire after Exodus. But it’s clear that he’s planning nothing of the kind. He is set to produce, but probably not direct, a Prometheus sequel and then there is the long-awaited sequel to Blade Runner. “We have a screenplay but I can’t talk about it right now,†he says. He has, he says, no regrets; he doesn’t look back. “I never dwell,†he says. “I have a shelf of productions and I occasionally look at them, but not often. I am already looking down the road. " From here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/10405944/Ridley-Scott-on-the-future-of-Prometheus.html Bit of a shock but it says probably not direct prometheus 2. I hope he is ok after his brothers problems. Could mean we see a new director soon and the film sooner than expected. Not sure who could do this. Would be a spanner in the works and we never find out the real truth of prometheus :s. Anyway fingers crossed its good news...

Last time tragedy struck and he lost a brother (yes, he has lost 2 brothers) his reaction was to throw himself into his work, the result of which was one of his best movies 'Blade Runner'. So no, I don't believe these rumors that he is quitting or whatever and I would not worry about it.

No its not saying hes quitting anyway but might produce but not direct on prometheus. With all the talk of his many films it just seems to fit. But no no sign of stopping making films in general...and yer not a strong article. Would like to hear something proper about the project soon...

Depend on his Schedule.. I am sure he would have a lot of input into Prometheus 2 and 3 and i do recon he and Fox already know where they want to go with the plot. Maybe he wont direct the movie completely but he will have a part in what goes on visually...

I don't buy this. Here's why: 1. This came out about the same time as an interview with Ridley where he made it sound like he was directing it. If he wasn't, he would probably already be tampering down expectations by saying he was producing it. 2. The film received mostly positive reviews by critics! Ridley isn't reading the comment section on IMDB. This would be like saying James Cameron was upset by the "critical reception" of Avatar based on internet fanboys bashing it as opposed to the near universal praise it received from critics. The film was also a big financial success as well. 3. None of that was sourced.

Lol u obviously didn't read what most of the critics were writing! Ill give u one such review: Your text to link here... that is one of the reviews which was counted as a 'liked' review by rotten tomatoes! ! Its very strange how rotten toms counts positive reviews - another thing was most of the top reviewers especially in the uk didn't praise it and the ridley probably saw these.

LOL yourself. I'm not reading your cherry picking. The movie was certified fresh by the top critics. It was well received. Roeper's review, for example, was almost glowing. Ebert gave it 4 out of 4 stars. Stop confusing forum fanboi bitching for a critical reception.

now whos cherry picking! erm that was a 'FRESH' review from rotten tomatoes - how would that be fannoi bitching that counted towards the 74 percent rotten toms gave. If they had read it it would of gone to negative lol :O Egbert is so old he probably couldn\'t see the screen lol and hes dead now as well an american - I was mainly talking about reviews closer to his home but yer some of the others as well. What I am saying is alien got 10/10 and even 97 percent on toms and 94 liked it prometheus got alot of 60 70s - 74 on toms and 69 liked it. Which is a big jump down already but then if you read allot of the reviews they give good marks but then slate it - for instance one of the top ones scott would of listened too was the top critic mark kommode : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jyxZBuWSXM This is someone who knows Ridley and moves in the same circles as him so he is being nice. Yet he still says Prometheus is muddled / flawed even in this positive review! http://shotguncritic.com/2012/06/01/review-prometheus/ Another one from rotten toms - a positive review YET still more ripping into it pointing out the problems etc. etc. . I can real these off all day (like here another of the big ones in the UK : http://www.theguardian.com/film/movie/145506/prometheus ) there not isolated...Anyway you can ignore all the facts - I am used to fanbois of prometheus doing this but maybe you should have a dig you\'ll see why Ridley was disappointed. If you think about it as well to get less than 3 out of 5 stars with $200 is pretty damn hard to do do you not think!?

Alien has 10/10 thanks to retrospective reviews of a film that was later deemed a classic. And learn how to spell and construct sentences. I read probably 20 reviews when it came out. I'm not reading anymore. They weren't bitching about the stuff the forum ninnies were complaining about. Ebert was the top critic in the world. Spelling his name wrong doesn't change that. The film was well received by critics, and it made a lot of money. You can live in a fantasy land where this and other fanboi nitpicking favorites like Avatar weren't successful, but it's just that, a fantasy.

I just found this ... I hope it does not affect the development of the sequel ...

Ridley Scott in charge of a fantasy movie?
