I hope that his great mind and soul go on to enrich the world for us all as they did while he drew breath. The endless vistas of space and time never truley allow anything to die. Matter and energy move as one in a constant and beautiful cosmic dance. A grand scheme whose true purpose and design are known only by those whom rejoin its unknown tides once they have at last grown ready for their very essence to step beyond what is thought of as "real". It is that place to which we must all eventually travel. It is that place from which we must all eventually step into this beautiful universe that gave rise to us all.

NECRONOM4 - The day will come when you get to meet him. Perhaps not in this lifetime, but it will occur. The sheer amount of energy and matter that exists within this great, yet extraordinarily small universe we call home is far too awesome in scope to allow something as small, yet grand, as a consciousness to simply fade away to nothingness - for it, too, is a form of energy. Giger, and all whom existed before him, still exists somewhere beyond - amidst the seas of space-time through which we voyage before we are born and after we die.

@Something Real...Beautiful words and thoughts! Thank you!
I have tears in my eyes...I too would have loved to have met him. He was a hero to me, and one of the finest artists to have ever graced this earth.
H R Giger, I loved you and your work.

@SomethingReal - very eloquently put. His visions will now be beyond imagining out there
in the ether.

I am willing to bet that 'Prometheus 2' will now be a tribute of sorts to him.
We may see the makers really let go creatively as a homage.

This is shocking and sad news, especially as it was not of natural causes but a accident, whichs means his death is pre-mature.
But he has left a Legacy behind him a truly one of a kind artist who had given the world a unique style of art, that has inspired many other artists and movies around the world.
I wonder if Ridley would have wanted him to work on Part 2 of Prometheus with some ideas, lets hope they have had meetings all ready and Ridley has some ideas from him. As while the movie will be Giger inspired you cant help but wonder what wacky and crazy yet wonderfull concepts and ideas that man would have given Ridley.
R.I.P HR Giger A LEGEND!

ZETARETICULI - Indeed. I've no doubt that his greatest triumphs of thought and imagination are only just beginning. Just imagine what he'll be able to conjure in the new chapter he's entered! :)

Something RealMay 13, 2014
LONE - Oh, don't cry, sweetie! It's alright. Leaving this world is just another part of living - of existing. It's not a waste or a shame, it's simply the way things are meant to be. We never truly lose others; they're simply removed for a little while - beyond our scope of perception. That's to help us become more accustomed and used to the thought that we'll one day have to take the same step into the unknown. Chin up! :)

Something Real~ It's just that I felt that he wasn't yet ready to leave this mortal coil!
I was hoping he would be involved in future projects, especially Prometheus 2.
I trust his influence will be there, in the sequel?

What an absolutely terrible loss. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Without him, none of this fictional universe we adore so much would have been remotely possible.

For me H.R. Giger was the type of genius who inspired those who inspire others, and will continue to inspire. A sad day and a great loss.
RIP. H.R. Giger

He became legendary early in his career. I did not get to live in the time of Da Vinci or Van Gogh, of Bosch or Monet, but I did get to live in the time of Giger. And as you can see, he did my avatar, in 1973.

Very sad. Another one of the old school masters has gone. He played a major hand in creating a legend. Good bye good sir.
"how do you feel?"-" great, next stupid question"

DW-76May 15, 2014
Giger, your work has inspired me more than that of any other artist.
You are irreplacable, and as many others have said - you will never be forgotten.

CremildoMay 17, 2014
The Alien franchise is my favorite film series ever. Alien is my #1 film of all time. Prometheus is a personal favorite.
None of that would exist in their current form without Giger. The importance of the man to my love of cinema (and to sci-fi cinema in general) cannot be overstated.
RIP
