Newborn follow up

dk
MemberTrilobiteFebruary 06, 2017SM made an interesting observation and sent a compelling image on a different thread. There are several images out there suggesting both male/female genetelia. The newborn suggests being female from this image. Question- what might be the reproductive counterpart at that time?
Ripley.
The July 22 1996 revision has the following passage in Waste Tank 5 (they were shooting by November).
"The Newborn wraps its arms around her. She is trying hard not to shake. She looks down as it presses itself against her... a slit in its belly moves, widens as a dripping protuberance begins to emerge. It looks mostly like a giant earwig. But it's not. Ripley gasps audibly as the creatures intentions become clear."
In earlier drafts it just tried to kill her.
The newborn may have been a hermaphrodite! That would have been pretty weird.

They must have left these of my quadrilogy dvds.Theres a big thing about the design of the newborn but i think they left that out.Although Juenet mentioned it i think,

There's an Enhancement Pod on the Anthology Blu Rays called 'Newborn Dick Removal'.
I have all these Blu Rays and never bother to watch all that stuff. I need to go back and see them when time allows.
One reason is laziness and just wanting the best movie version.
The other is worrying that the mystique/mythos might be ruined.
Not the worst problem in the world to have.
Oh god really lol.I wonder if it can be found on YouTube.

Probably. I would encourage finding the Anthology. I got it used and spent a few bucks but it is the most definitive collection to have to date as far as I can see.
I know what you mean by mystique being ruined. When you know how certain things are done,it does take a little magic out of it.

The Enhancement Pods are great. They're essentially short little outtakes from each of the Making Of docos, but altogether it's another 2.5 hours or so of behind the scenes material.
I'll definitely own it.They put out an Aliens 30 anniversary edition that i'm going to buy at some point. It comes with an art book among other things.Wal-Mart is practically throwing it away for 10 bucks.
