But i would assume Davis hair grows at a certain rate, this is why he had to Dye his Roots in Prometheus, but i can see your point as far as what kind of Maintenance does David have.

We do see him drinking something in Prometheus and the Meet Walter Viral we see Walter also drinks something and we have to wonder what Purpose does this have for a Machine.

The only answer is it is a requirement for the Androids to function, and so its a very good question to Ponder what affect could going 10 years without this have on David.

I think how does Shaw survive is another interesting Question, she needs Food and Water, and we have to assume She can not live off any contaminated Food and Water and maybe this is where the Wheat Comes in, although it may have grown on Paradise Naturally.

Ah, good point with the growth rate, seems appropriate to program an AI with such elements (hence the dye). But you did remind me, what was that drink Walter consumed in the Viral vid? Was this replicated by David on Paradise to continue his functions?
