Thank you ObscureMammal and Batchpool for also pointing out this interview.

Have we fully prepared ourselves for who may be the biomechanical xenomorph baby momma?

Ingi,

I watched that interview and didn't catch that.  Do you have a time stamp?

If that's true, that David makes the true biomechanical Alien...man, I dunno.

But I prefer my ideas of it's origins, as such makes more sense and fits the ALIENverse much better.

I am okay with David being the creator of the bio-xeno.

If David created the Biomechanical Alien, that really conflicts with the LV-426 Derelict.

I have divorced myself from using the word 'xenomorph' as it comes from Cameron, and just doesn't have the same 'ring' to me as 'Alien' or 'The Alien'...'xenoorph', just makes it more unwantedly 'classifiable' to me.

Xenomorph: An initially lazy, aggro-prone, uber-slobbery insectile species of quasi-biped commonly used to sight-in automated sentry guns.
Note; Do NOT make good housepets.

Alien (The Alien): The stuff of your nightmares plucked from your unconscious and given solidity and form. An un-knowable being shrouded in the dark depths of mystery from ages long past, that is death incarnate among the stars.

Human (Hoo-man): Servant species of Felis Familiaris. Known for somewhat comedic acts that are survival-negative and occasionally outright suicidal. Re; 'Pulling a Holloway'
Considered by many to be weak, soft and rather helpless, they can be stunningly dangerous nonetheless...but usually quite entertaining even then.

Inge - "far more interesting the Engineers didn't make HIM David made HIM".  Right at about 3:25-3:40  You called it Here.  Now the question is how did David make HIM?

If David did make it, he might have used Walter. The skinned/plastinated body/figure in the workshop kinda resembles him and makes me think of the image of Walter on the table (see beginning of this thread) when he is being constructed.

Could David 8 have put his suit on Walter while he morphing or is it Dr. Shaw's suit depicted on the Funko Xeno?

I am very OK with Walter as the origin too M577. The presumed countless number of Walters on the Covenant may be used to produce something.

You're right Blackwinter-witch with the timeline associated with the Engineer ship on LV-426 assumed as very old based on the Nostromo crew observations.

If the ship is eons old and been on LV-426 for thousands of years, then who knows and it is tough to connect to Walter without a time-travel element.

If the ship above wasn't there on LV-426 in 2093 for the Prometheus mission to pick up the signal (that the Nostomo picked up in 2122) then the timeline would work out in regards to the many biomechanical xenomorph eggs below produced potentially being related to the Walters on the Covenant.

How exactly are you guys getting "Shaw" out of the funko pop figure?

DirtWolf, the Funko xenomorph has a suit on it similar to David 8 and Dr. Shaw's gear they were wearing when they left LV-223 opposed to a naked xenomorph.

Iz LoL-Cat Dialect. :D
eg: 'Mah Hoo-man needsz to open some too-nah for me.'
I know it very well, as with 9 cats, such is an immersion-course in it :)

Ingeniero

Yeah, Dallas states 'fossilized', and that takes a LONG time, even under the best possible conditions for such to happen, which are not present on LV-426.

But the Funko xeno has blue lines...Shaw's suit featured orange lines.  David 8's suit however featured blue lines like you see in the Funko xeno.

Just look at The Crossing & you'll see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeMVrnYNwus

@Ingeniero

It looks like veins to me, rather than the piping of a space suit.  Also, on the Prometheus space suits that had piping, the piping was orange.  Those things are making me skeptical that the Xeno is wearing a suit, let alone that it is Shaw's suit.  Why would a Xeno be wearing a suit?

@Ash

That is what I was thinking... wouldn't the piping be orange if it's Shaw's suit?  And it's not just David's suit that doesn't have the orange piping, it's all of the males suits, while the female suits do have it.  The male suits do have little lines but they don't appear to be piping like the ones on Shaw's suit, they appear to be the same shade of dark blue as the suit.  But I could be wrong b/c I am looking at the pictures on my phone so maybe there isn't as much detail.

I always figured David created it except that he would die in the process. Walter anyone?

I'm still leaning towards Walter wearing David 8's suit dk in regards to the Funko angle.

If David 8 was able to take Walter's clothes (and get his face scratched doing it) and replace Walter's clothes with his suit on Walter...my best guess. And Walter evolves into the xenomorph wearing David 8's suit.

Or, Walter could be convinced by David 8 to give up the humans.

My initial thought upon finding out the Space Jockey is a suit and not a creature, is that the Derelict HASN'T been there for hundreds/thousands of years. IMO the Space Jockey wasn't fossilised but whatever the suit was made out of led them to believe it was a fossilised creature. For all we know the Engineer inside the suit could've been facehugged by one of David's eggs already containing the biomechanoid DNA. A queen erupted from SJ's chest, he crashed/landed on LV-426 and died then the queen laid the eggs below. So this probably happens a few years after the events of Covenant.

Pretty far fetched but this is the only way I can see it making sense with the timeline, doesn't explain the stasis over the eggs though..

I'll be very surprised if they explain it any other way convincingly. Perhaps they'll have flashback scenes in Awakening showing what happened on LV-223 all those years ago along with the Derelict crash if it has in fact been there all that time.

There's going to be some retconning into Alien since the crew of the Nostromo was just "best guessing" the situation, not knowing anything about what they were seeing. We are NOW presented with the facts leading up to that sequence, period.

After considering this interview and listening to RS over and over, I still think he meant that David created the Xeno IN THIS FILM only, obviously trying to copy something from the past "Engineer's Ways", considering XX121 creatures were on murals in Prometheus and LV223 and so were chestbursters.

@Starlogger - I agree David created a Xeno, or 'Him', in this film.  I am hoping Sir Ridley will address the LV-426 'elephant in the room' & the Engineers in future installment films?

I am not fired up about Alien-Covenant & its lack of Engineer-explaining lore?

.....Of course I am going to see Alien-Covenant on opening day, I am just saying.....

Cerulean Blue, I feel the same way regarding the lack of Engineer history but I believe Alien: Awakening will cover that. It has to.

How did David 8 set this up?

David 8 appeared to be in control of both ships. He was hard at work for a while for this to happen.

This has to be covered and all the Engineer history David 8 mentioned (their ways) in Alien: Awakening.
